:-) if I say enough nice and wonderful things about this cabin tucked away from the hustle and bustle more people will want to rent it. and there'll go the neighborhood, jk! Sincerely though, I love the little community that cares for this gem. every time we come visiting there are new supplies or additions that really helps out the overall sustainability. Things such as left over paper products, instant coffee, or fresh wash cloths. One guy even left a note that he filled 137 nail holes. It takes a village, and I agree. thanks for the opportunity to be a part of that.

We love this cabin! Second time there for my birthday and it's becoming an annual thing. Beautiful hike just out the front door. Rustic, simplistic, and peaceful. Just what we need to escape busy city life and noise.

We have been staying there every winter for seven years. We enjoy the solitude and being off grid. Since there was very little snow this year, we did not see a single person in the five days that we were there. We always bring a project to make the cabin a little better. we are very thankful for the US forest service for making these cabins and yurts available. We do hope that they will do some very necessary repairs and repainting before the cabin deteriorates to an unusable state.

THE LISTING IS INCORRECT. IT ONLY SLEEPS 3 PEOPLE. 2 SINGLE BEDS AND ONE COUCH FUTON. IF YOU WANT MORE TO SLEEP THERE I RECCOMEND BRINGING A BED MAT TO SLEEP ON.

Space was extremely clean and stocked with wood. We were able to get warmed up quick even in December. The stovetop worked perfectly and we were able to cook a solid meal. Plates, pans, pots, utensils, mugs, pans ....the list goes on... was there. Hiking up to the cabin took a lot of work, but if you're backpacking, I recommend not bringing extra plates or pans, it's just unnecessary. The bed was cozy and we got a great night of sleep.

The Cabin is very rustic with no running water(in winter) a wood burning stove for heat, gas lighting, a gas stove and fridge and a pit toilet outside during winter months. Firewood is supplied but you have to split it yourself. We snowshoed in on Monday morning(-16°) to find the cabin had mouse droppings everywhere! We cleaned and sanitized every square inch of the place before settling in for a five day stay! The weather was fantastic(ly cold) with stunning starry nights. We built an igloo, sledded and snowshoed, the trail down the creek was 4’ deep unmarked powder that took 2 hours to go 1 mile , so exhilarating! The nightly visit from a Martin trying to break was pretty cool (I suspect he is used to being fed). Our snowshoe out was idyllic with heavy snowfall putting a beautiful cap on a great week!! This isn’t for everyone but we loved it
