The pack rat that lives in the rafters had used every flat surface to dedicate and urinate all over. It was gross. Unless you like hantavirus! Gorgeous piece of earth surrounded by barbed wire and plastic covered forest maintenance slash piles. I left 3 hours after arriving, without spending a single night.

This extremely little rustic cabin is next to a beautiful meadow with many deer, bugs, chipmunks, mice, beaver, and birds. It reminded us of Little House on the Prairie, with no running water or electricity. We shared the cabin with lizards, mice, spiders, and four active hornets' nests (in the actual cabin!!). We decided to leave the hornets alone, and they left us alone in return. It was an exciting experience, and this is NOT for glampers—the perfect place to bring your dogs and horses.

What a lovely place. Fantastic views of Mt. McLoughlin from the meadow nearby. Hosts at nearby campground were very helpful. Cabin has 2 bunk-beds (4 beds). Some evidence of rodents in the cabin, but with our dog we didn't see or hear them when at the cabin. Would definitely go back.

It was beautiful. The open prairie is stunning. We loved the historical feel. It was cold and there wasn’t much seasoned wood available yet, so make sure to have extra from somewhere. Otherwise, totally worth the rusticness.

There was a large downed tree over the entry road, we would have had to walk 1.5 miles (with gear and toddler). The other side roads still has snow at the end of April. So we never got there. I had called the phone number listed a few days prior to ask about the cabin and was told that even though I have the right number, he has no info. So it was really a failed experience all around!
