We had the best time! Amenities were perfect, everything was well stocked. Wood stove did a frat job at keeping us warm. Not the mention the location was amazing; very secluded, river access right in the backyard. It was amazing we will definitely be back!

This was an awesome cabin for a girls weekend get away. If you try to use Google maps, then it will not take you directly to this spot so make sure when you exit off of I-15 the entrance will not be too far off. If you cross the river, then you have gone too far. There is a sign that says Henneberry House. The cabin itself had plenty of space, but I would say fits 5-6 more comfortably. There were a few flies but otherwise very clean. The wood stove inside kept the cabin warm and where we slept. There was plenty of firewood available. The river in the back was fun to fish. There was a nice area to have a bonfire and a few other older structures on the property. The bathroom near the cabin was clean and had a light which was pretty nice. Also, the location is far enough away from the road for it to be quiet but not necessarily too far away either. Dillon is about 23mins away and Bannack is about 45mins away.

Great location, entrance is on the outer road immediately off the exit. Ignore Google after you take the final exit. There’s no doors on the bedrooms so consider that for sound insulation if you have a group or someone who snores. There’s a modern coded padlock I appreciated as that made entering and locking much easier. Bring potable water with you, the river is clean but boiling it is a pain, A yeti cooler (or something similar) would be optimal as well since the fridge is small. There is ample parking and land. The river wasn’t that deep in September but very cold. The water line went up too a few feet as well. This is probably one of the best cabins I’ve visited so far.

Had a wonderful time staying at the Henneberry Cabin this last weekend (May 3rd/4th). The weather was gorgeous and we had so much fun fishing, roasting marshmallows, watching birds, and just hanging out in nature. We only reserved it for one night, but going forward we will definitely get it for two because it is just so nice. The cabin itself is beautiful and well maintained. It was as clean as you can expect a 120 year old rudimentary cabin to be. The floors were nicely swept, it has a few nice carpet rugs, and the kitchen was stocked with some cooking dishes and silverware. There was plenty of firewood, which we used in the woodstove to keep warm over night, and then in the cooking stove to make breakfast on Sunday morning. There are mice in the cabin, but that is to be expected since it's not lived in and there aren't any cats there to keep them at bay. The sandhill cranes were traveling through and it was awesome to watch them fly over and land in the field in front of the house. The water that comes from the pump out front is not potable, so make sure you bring your own drinking water. The vault toilet was clean and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I highly recommend staying here!

Awesome Cabin! This is my second time coming to this Cabin and I love it. It didn't bother me much but as an FYI - I have T-Mobile and had almost no cell service, my friends with Verizon had coverage.

Beautiful, pioneer life cabin right on the Beaverhead River! Unfortunately I still had service on my AT&T phone so I placed it in airplane mode. Only one mouse over the 4 days. We came to get away and it was perfect for that purpose. Be prepared to de-ice the fridge. Mosquito's are prolific, but amazingly so are fireflies!!

Great cabin. Peaceful setting right next to the river. Good beds, stove, refrigerator, dishes. We brought mouse traps and trapped 3 mice. Clean cabin, nice outhouse. Would come back again. Thank you FS!

Trip if driving in from the south. Don't follow google map it is wrong. Drive north to Dillon and return on south on the interstate following the direction provided by recreation.gov. The Henneberry House is well taken care and was a pleasure to stay at for a few days. I thought staying behind the gated area would provide lots of privacy but each day a several fisherman came walking up the banks fishing behind the house. In Mid -April 2022, there was no snow on the ground but the temps ranged from low 40's to mid 20's. Used the wood stove to heat the entire cabin. I think the large space heater is failing so don't count on it for heat. Would return to the cabin in the future.

Cabin was clean and in fairly good shape. One of the futon beds was broken, however, still usable as long as you were gentle and had two or three people to lower and raise it together. This was our second time here and we really love it for being accessible all year and very comfortable. Went to Maverick Mountain ski area and Elkhorn Hotsprings one day, and Dillon is a cool town too, got breakfast there on our way out. We put up our food in the cabinets and/or sealed plastic bins when we were not cooking and eating and had no mouse problems. All in all a great trip, and we look forward to coming back in future years!
