What Guests Are Saying
The Bangor / Holden KOA features spacious, level sites and clean bathrooms and laundry facilities, with friendly staff who go the extra mile for guests, such as providing late-night propane service. However, concerns include a large pothole at the exit, short pull-through sites, and issues with the pool temperature and shower facilities. Some long-term visitors feel the campground has declined in community atmosphere and amenities since the ownership change, with fewer family-friendly options and a shift towards a more adult-oriented environment.

We stayed for one week. The sites are very spacious and ours was level.
The bathroom and laundry room are clean. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Only complaint is the massive pothole as you exit the campground. Makes it difficult to pull
Out into traffic and not good for vehicles and RV's to bounce through. KOA, how about filling it up with gravel???

Service was great. Didn't stay there but needed propane late at night and they opened to accommodate us. We are so Grateful to the kind staff. Came back days later for a refill. All the staff was kind and welcoming

The campsite was fine, The pull through is a little short. There were many permanent campers. The showers I just been remodeled but one stall had no warm water and the other had the shower curtain to fall off. I fixed one side so I could take a shower. I think for the most part the sites are level.

We have been staying at this KOA for almost ten years and it has changed for the worse once the owner sold it to a big company to run under the KOA name still. This campground used to be fun and have a great mix of people (seasonal, locals, out of state people, tourists). But not anymore! It is mostly seasonal rentals and employees that live in campers that all have a click and seem to run off anyone they don't like. We hadn't even unhooked our camper yet and they come running up to us saying our 14 year old is riding his bike without a helmet on. We have stayed here almost a dozen times and never had helmets for the kids even when they were 5 years old. They yell at the kids and have cameras all over the park if they see the kids out after dark. The pool was so cold could not go in it even in August. We had a nice site but too close to the road and the traffic was heard all day and night. They also try to make it like you have to pay extra to lock in your site or reserve right away on line they are almost full. What a scam! We paid extra for a patio site and to hold it and the campground was almost empty the whole 6 days we stayed there. We probably had over 50 sites we could have chosen for less $. My three kids wanted to leave the campground within the first 24 hours there they hated the changes so bad. The nice ice cream store closed down. They don't make hot food options anymore. And the store/ office closes at 5pm! That is unheard of at a KOA. At least 7 or 8 pm at most campgrounds. This campground would only be good for adults passing thru to hook up and sleep for one night now. We saw most of the seasonal people we talked to have already left or want to find another campground because they don't like it there anymore either. This campground will be a 50+ member only campground soon. If you stayed here years ago when Chris and his wife ran this campground and loved the place then you will be disappointed now. I would have Chris's attitude any day over this old folk run click campground now.

We had a great stay this passed weekend. Not one hiccup! Our kids had a really great time making crafts with Amy. She is great with kids so much that all 3 of my kids gave her a big hug before we left. Clean campground, sweet office ladies. Excited to come back in September!
