Camp host was very knowledgeable and friendly. The campground was in great condition and was quite scenic. Enjoyed our visit.
However, the self pay system has a flaw, we could only book 1 nite at a time, thus since we stayed 3 nights, we had to pay the service fee 3 times.

The campground was very well kept, clean vault toilets, garbage and recycling areas, and campsites. Private and quiet. Beautiful time if the year to be there with the Fall
colors and colder nights…no mosquitos, though did have a few flies. I never did see or talk with the camp host but I didn’t need to be in touch with them. Not certain what time check-in time and check-out time we’re, as it wasn’t posted anywhere I could find or available when I called the BLM office. Maybe all is laid back and casual which was fine by me since it was first come first served only. I’ll be back! Loved it here. Much to do and see in the area.

The new online registration at the campground was very confusing & wouldn’t correctly accept our campsite number. Then we read that the south Steens cg also had an online kiosk so we planned to pay for our site there that way. When we got there & tried to pay the kiosk wouldn’t accept our credit card as it was either jammed or closed.

Nice campground and location with pretty clean pit toilets. I never met the camp host, but I know there was one. I enjoyed the hiking trails, though there were quite a lot of bugs. I enjoyed my site, but it was extremely sunny and hot during the late afternoon.
