Moto camped and the area is beautiful. Take some time to see as much as you can. Still have some things closed but everyone was very nice and informative.

The campground itself is very beautiful . Our experience however, was poor due mainly to the other campers need to have constant smoky fires going. It really ruined the experience for us. We would like to see some rules limiting the fires to a couple of hours in the evening only and have the rules enforced.
A no smoking fires campground would be welcome.
We had to move our camp because we could not get a reservation for two days in a row. But after we moved nobody showed up to take the campsite we vacated. Also there were several unoccupied sites around us. Something needs to be done to allow campers needing a site to be allowed to use sites that are not occupied.

Love this campground! The drive is worth it! It’s amazing! I would suggest to book the campsites that’s close to the river, you will love it! There is a waterfall (roaring river falls) within 10mins away from the campground. Bathroom, waters, and trash are provided. There is zero cell service here, so be prepared. The surrounding view is so nice that I will definitely come back!

Love this campground! The drive is worth it! It’s amazing! I would suggest to book the campsites that’s close to the river, you will love it! We made a reservation in advance to stay 2 nights at Sentinel Campground in King's Canyon. Our 1st campsite was ready when we arrived. The loop for the 2nd campsite was closed, & staff said it wouldn't open until noon the next day, which was inconvenient as we wanted to go hiking in the a.m., but had to wait around to move to the 2nd site.
Also, not all of the campgrounds and toilets were open even though the demand was there in mid-May 2021. A friend who hoped to get a site the 2nd night wasn't able to & had to leave the park.
Other than that, the park is beautiful, and we enjoyed the hikes to Roaring River & Mist Falls.

It was frustrating trying to get a spot using Recreation.gov. I was finally able to get a spot at our favorite camping ground but only because someone canceled. Cedar grove needs a dump station.

From Fresno, CA, follow California State Highway 180 East to Cedar Grove. Sentinel Campground is located on the left (north) side of the road in the village.
Sentinel Campground is accessible via Kings Canyon Scenic Byway, which connects to CA-198 approximately 25 miles to the west.

- Campsites will be cancelled if vacant for 24 hours after arrival; first night's fee and a $10 cancellation fee apply.
