Staff is awesome and friendly. It is a bit run down in the baths, but all in all a good stay. We do not normally do RV Parks, but this worked great for what we needed

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The park was quiet and really pretty sitting in the bottom of a canyon. Getting to the park from the highway was interesting, 3.5 miles of windy narrow road. Not a problem, just unexpected and kind of exciting. The park is not a resort, so expect small rv’s, tents, and groups in cabins. I am not saying we won’t stay there again, but probably not. It was close enough to Durango for us and on the highway we were leaving on. We spent 3 nights there, so we did experience the park.

We have a pop up camper and typically like to camp in much more off the beaten trail/rustic locations (National/state parks, national forest campgrounds, etc.). That said we’ve done several long road trips in our pop up along side my parents’ 5th wheel so we’ve experienced our share of true RV parks/resorts as well. We had low expectations for our “camping” experience but HTR Durango exceeded by a lot! We left our site up to them instead of paying extra to choose it and they gave us a great spot in the shade with trees on one side that gave us both privacy and shade for our picnic table (again- pop up, we eat outside). The bathrooms were clean and always available and we loved the campground lights on the bridge at night so we could find our way easily. For a campground full of RVs- it was also really quiet overnight! The creek is dry now in mid-August but our teens loved the pool. We are super close to Durango and Mesa Verde which were the goals this week. I will say there are some really tight spots & close together spots that if we’d have been in we would’ve been unhappy but I appreciate where we are at and the consideration that went into spacing out the non-full hook up spots. Love the little common spaces for corn-hole, chess & ladder ball. Thumbs up!

Spent 3 weeks here and absolutely loved everything about this campground! Every employee is so kind and they work so hard. The grounds are very well kept. Laundry room was clean and functioning. Its coin operated but they have a coin machine!! The bathrooms are clean. The dog park is large, has grass and shade. The creek is so beautiful. 10/10 recommend! If we are ever back in the area, we will absolutely stay here again!
