The campground is near a busy highway that runs through the forest. You can hear cars and trucks all night if you are sleeping in a tent. I expected quiet in such a remote area. Also, beware of ticks and chiggers. We found lots of them and weren’t aware there were so many!! The ticks even fall out of trees. The kayak on Juniper was long and difficult to maneuver around so many tree trunks, needless to say we got stuck frequently. The film we were required to watch did not represent the trip. We did see a few alligators. It took us 5 hrs! It was not worth it! We are experienced kayakers.
The staff was nice and helpful and it’s a pretty campground and the springs are beautiful.

Hello—this was our family's first time visiting a spring in an RV. It was truly a peaceful weekend, though unfortunately, there were a lot of ticks; my little dog and my entire family ended up covered in these critters, which are anything but pleasant. And that was despite the fact that we stayed in an RV—just imagine what it was like for the people staying in tents! Another issue was in the bathrooms at Dunas: the water comes out scalding hot—so hot, in fact, that you can't really take a proper shower. Aside from that, it was a quiet stay.
hola fue nuestra primera en familia en un rv ir a un spring, realmente fue un fin de semana tranquilo pero lamentablemente hay muchas garrapatas y mi perrita y toda mi familia fue llena de estos animalitos que no son nada agradable, y eso que nos quedamos en un rv imaginate la gente que se quedo en tents , lo otro en los banos con dunas el agua sale hirviendo osea muy caliente que no puedes banarte bien. del resto fue una estancia tranquila...

The springs and swimming area were clean and well kept. The camping area was clean with each spot having a unique layout. 47 was a great spot. Bathroom was clean. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Kayaking the spring run was amazing. Will definitely return.

Nice camp sites, cleaner facilities than i usually see, and friendly staff. The swimming "pool" was beautiful and the kayak run was so much fun. The rapids they talk about are only a few seconds. There were a lot of obstacles but it made it really fun.

Incredibly beautiful location. Even with the immense amount of visitors and campers, my campsite gave me complete privacy. Would love to return. Get ready for the no-see-ums

Alot of the boardwalk areas were closed for repair. Park staff were great. Bathrooms in the camping areas were OK. Springs area was good.

From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs for approximately 36 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 37 miles to the Juniper Springs Recreation Area.
From the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19, the campground is 4.5 miles west on Highway 40. The entrance is on the north side of Highway 40.
Juniper Springs Recreation Area is accessible via Highway 40, which connects to I-75 and I-95. It is located approximately 4.5 miles west of the intersection of Highway 40 and Highway 19.

General
- Campground gate is closed and locked from to . Campers who check-in after the gatehouse is closed must visit the Gatehouse the next morning to complete their check-in to their site. Failure to do so will lead to a 'no show' charge to your reservation and potential forfeiture of site.
- Camp sites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Each campsite can hold a MAXIMUM of 2 tents and 5 campers. Maximum 2 vehicles per site (campers included); extra vehicles must park in overflow/overnight parking area and will be charged $9 per vehicle, per night
- NO REFUNDS DUE TO WEATHER
- Generators are not allowed to run during quiet hours.
- No off-road vehicles allowed within the campground
- Bears and raccoons frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers. Failure to comply with this regulation can result in immediate ejection from campground without refund.
- Dogs/pets are allowed in campground only and must be leashed and supervised at all times. No dogs/pets allowed in day-use area, bathrooms, boardwalk and canoe run.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the day-use area.We ask that guests be courteous of one another and limit floats in the swimming area to under 60 inches across. Please be aware the boardwalk remains closed due to age and hurricane damage.
- Children weighing less than 40 lbs are not allowed in rental canoes. No disposable items allowed on the canoe run (i.e., food wrappers, styrofoam coolers, cans, bottles, etc.) Only re-usable containers are allowed.
- Private canoe and kayak launches are at a fee and limited to 30 total vessels per day. Vessels must be launch BEFORE 1:00 p.m. daily. JUNIPER RUN IS NOT FOR BEGGINERS. IT IS A WILDERNESS AREA AND MECHANICAL TOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED, SO THE RUN REMAINS WILD.

- As per Forestry Department regulations, fines will result from the following infractions: - Leaving unattended coolers and food. These items must be in bear boxes or fully shut vehicles - Leaving burning or smoldering fires when exiting campsite. - Improperly parked vehicles
