What Guests Are Saying
Alturas Lake Inlet is a beautiful lakeside campground set against the picturesque Sawtooth Mountains, featuring clean facilities and attentive camp hosts. The campground offers ample space and privacy, with easy access to the lake for swimming, fishing, and hiking. While it can get crowded on weekends and mosquitoes are prevalent, many guests find it well worth the trip for the stunning scenery and overall enjoyable experience.

Location was nice place camphost was basically MIA. Cars speeding through the campground. I think I saw the park coast once driving through the campgrounds on a three night stay I contacted him four times to try and get my day pass for the lake finally on the fourth time, he filled one out for me

Beautiful area and lake. Not as bust as Redfish but getting more crowded every year.

The campground itself was clean, the host was excellent, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. However, over half of the campers had generators, and the ones to either side of us were running their generators all day long every day (they did respect quiet hours starting at 10 pm, but beyond that, the generators were constantly running). That ruins the camping experience and the point of going out into nature for us. Establishing more rules about generator use in this campground is definitely something that needs to be addressed for the future.

I have been going to Alturas for 30+ years starting as a kid when my parents took me and now I take my kids. This year, the camp host from AZ was outstanding., he helped talk to an arguing couple with calm and ease, very polite and the outhouse facilities are the cleanest I have ever seen any campground.
The fishing as great, my 10 yr old daughter caught probably 15 and a 4” rainbow. Beautiful place!

Enjoyed this campground. It was clean and spacious with lots of outhouses and clean water. We used it as a base camp as we canoed surrounding lakes.
