Check in was not very good, we have been coming to this campground for years and always had great check in experience. This time was the worst. We were told our site wasn’t empty and told we could park on a side road and we would be told when we could go to our site, after 40 minutes in the 95 degree heat I walked to the site and found it was empty and had been for hours. The people in the next site told me

Amazing stay! Peacefully with beautiful views of the water from the Hill Loop. These sites are shaded. We enjoyed walking and seeing the wildlife.

Like the campground, but not the parade of golf carts. Some work is needed on the 'primitive' sites - new paving or patching needs to be done. Bath house was clean and water was great.

Very clean. Sites nicely spread out. Camphorates were great, very helpful on adding another night to our stay.

Site easy to get in to. Gate keepers are the best anywhere.

Primitive camping loop offers many sites that are on multiple levels due to terrain. I had spot 4. I took a camping van I have been converting out on the first outing. The area where I parked the van had about 4 steps up to a level area where tent campers MUST set up tents. Not allowed off this area, then 5 steps from that pad up to an area that had the picnic table and fire ring. It was not horrible, but do not expect a level spot with all amenities together. Up and downs stairs constantly and the stairs are not level. Natural erosion means you need to pay attention. There are several other loops within the campground that have large, level, amenities all together sites that are much better. It was my first time there, so live and learn. FYI . ...Campsite 75 looked best. Hope this helps someone.
