Great Park, Even Better Host
We had a really solid stay at Bayou Barataria RV Park and would recommend it without hesitation — largely because of the host, Shawn. From the moment we pulled in, he was very welcoming, the kind of person who makes you feel like you’re in good hands.
What stood out most was how genuinely caring he was. He paid attention to what we needed, went out of his way to accommodate us. That kind of quiet, consistent effort is hard to find and easy to appreciate.
The park itself is a nice spot, but Shawn is what makes it worth coming back to. If good hospitality matters to you when you’re on the road, this is the place. We’ll definitely be returning.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

I stayed at this RV park with my family a couple years ago for about a year and a half and we loved it. It was safe, clean, reasonably priced, and the manager Shawn is top notch. I’m on my way there now because a package was shipped there by accident and he’s still just as kind and friendly as he was back then. I miss living in NOLA at Bayou Barataria!

We had an amazing stay here. 2 adults and 2 children. Quiet and secluded but not too far away from things. Spacious and easy to set up. Shawn was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We will be staying here again!

This is A GREAT RV Park!!!!! Bayou Barataria is a well kept RV Park and it’s QUIET!!!!! The spaces have adequate room between you and your neighbors, so no one can hear each other’s conversations or vehicles. I feel safe and secure here. It’s got real good lighting outside at night. Our neighbors are nice.
My husband & I were originally going to stay somewhere else but that fell through, so we found Bayou Barataria on Google. I’m extremely happy here!!!!!!!!!! The site we stayed in has 30 & 50 amp service and FHUs. The price for 3 nights was very reasonable. (Some places charge way too much!) AND…..it’s only 15 minutes from downtown New Orleans!!!!!!!!!

The managers name is Shawn. He was polite, courteous and friendly. He led us to our space, gave us our code to go inside the laundry room/ restrooms which are located inside a small building. And the WIFI password. Shawn & Lee Anne gave us Top Tier Customer Service all around.

There is one restroom with one shower for Men & a SEPARATE restroom with shower for Women. 😊 😊
The laundry room has 3 washing machines and 4 dryers. The A/C keeps the laundry room nice and comfortably cool even when the dryer is going. No Laundry detergent dispensers so make sure you bring your own. Each machine costs $2 per load. I did 2 loads of wash & 2 loads to dry which cost me $8 in QUARTERS. SO MAKE SURE YOU GET A ROLL OF QUARTERS from the Casino up the road or from the bank if you need to do laundry.😇

We have enjoyed our stay here and we will MOST DEFINITELY RETURN TO Bayou Barataria in the future!!!!!!!!!! 10 STARS ⭐️

There were few amenities other than water, electricity, and sewer, but our site was level, and there was a decent amount of space between us and our neighbor, who was very nice. As others have noted, the park is situated in an industrial area, but it is quiet and feels secure. A lot of the residents appear to be long-term and working in the area. Shawn, the manager, is very nice as is Scott, the owner. There is what appears to be a sewage pump station in the park. When it's on, it is fairly loud and a little stinky. All in all, it is a good place to park when visiting New Orleans. We would stay here again.
We rode the Algiers ferry to New Orleans at Shawn's suggestion. We parked on the street for free, and the ferry ride was just $2 each. A great deal!
