My family and I have stayed at sennebec lake campground as seasonals for 5+ years. Out of the many campgrounds I have stayed at growing up sennebec is hands down the best. The sites are roomy and the owners are friendly. Highly recommend!

Owners and staff, mostly seasonal campers, make all the difference in this revitalized setting with beach and playground for kids. What a great surprise!

We chose this campground because of its proximity to Rockland, ME, where we were visiting friends. This is a lovely part of coastal Maine with quaint towns and lots of lighthouses.
Site M6. Back-in, 30/20 amp, water, 4" threaded sewer. Even after repositioning multiple times, the best I could do was for the coach to be 1.0 degrees low in front and 1.0 degrees low on the right. Was able to get the coach level, but, the gravel was not well compacted and in the process of driving onto the ramps, three of the four split lengthwise, even though the two in back had the metal reinforcing bars.
Our site was at the front of the campground, just past the entrance gate and office. All traffic in and out of the campground goes past this section, but fortunately, there is not much traffic in or out. Our site was open / sunny, and straight parallel, perpendicular to the road, with reasonable spacing - more than enough to have slides out, awning extended, and still have room to walk around without encroaching on the neighboring site. It appears to be where the transients are put. Most of the rest of the campground appears to be seasonal, with sites positioned parallel to the road, on shaded / wooded sites, many with nice views of the lake.
The campground is quiet, and there is no road noise.
There is a boat ramp in the campground, some floating docks, and a beach on the lake.
At lakeside, there is a glamping section with some yurts and some platform tents. In this section, there are four trailer mounted toilets that require a physical key to get into.
There is one bath house. It is clean enough, and functional, though a bit rustic.
The section we were in is big rig friendly though the access from the road into the campground is only one lane, and I'm not sure what we would have done if we had encountered another RV when we were trying to enter or exit the campground.
We had multiple instances with low voltage from the power pedestal (enough to cause the Watchdog to cut power to the coach) once the outside temperature exceeded 80 degrees.
There is a clean laundry with 2 front loading washing machines, two dryers. $3.25 per load to wash, $2.75 per load to dry. Quarters are available from a machine in the game room / arcade, or from the office / store.
One thing that did annoy me is that they charged $10 ($5 each person) for our friends to come at 6:00 pm to have dinner with us. I could see if they came for the day to use the facility, but to charge just to park in front of our motorhome for dinner was ridiculous. The rules did clearly communicate that any visitors had to pay, but still...
Verizon: 1-2 bars LTE, no data; AT&T: 2.54 Mbps down, 2.26 Mbps up
campground wifi: 14.09 Mbps down, 8.63 Mbps up
There really aren't any better options for a big rig near Rockland.
Rockland is a thirty-minute drive and has plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, a Walmart, and pretty much anything else you would need.
Lots of wonderful lighthouses within a 30-60 minute drive.

Absolutely outstanding. I felt like a kid again. Better i went thirty-five years back in time, listening guitars and harmonica quietly playing on the background. Beautiful place, wonderful, hardworking owners with vision and perfect execution of they dreams for the future of the campground. I had a chance to have a private tour with one of them, and let me tell you. After we are done, I have no doubt this campground will be named Jewel of Maine. I was so excited learning about water treatment for the customers and fiber optics for better connection with the outside world and plenty plenty more coming to this camp in the future.
I'll be visiting this place a couple of times a year. Thank you for great experience, peace, and beauty.

Our experience was overall very disappointing. We stayed in a cabin here for 2 nights a couple of weekends ago and it left a lot to be desired. We were freezing to death as the heat pump in the cabin barely put out any heat, and it was a cold late October weekend. It probably needs to be cleaned/serviced. We had it cranked as high as it would go, but it still hardly produced any heat, leaving the cabin very chilly. Also, the lighting in this cabin was TERRIBLE. There were several lamps, but almost none of them worked. The light in the shower didn't work either, and the light over the sink was very dim. We found ourselves frequently having to use the flashlights on our phones. Lastly, there were people staying in a camper right outside of our cabin, who were very loud, both early in the morning and late into the night, which we did not appreciate at all, especially when the entire reason we were there was for a peaceful and quiet weekend getaway. We will definitely not stay here again, nor would we recommend this campground.
