2025 was our first year camping at Campers Paradise and I hope to return again very soon. The showers/ restrooms were very clean and well kept, the beach offered hours of tanning and swimming fun, and the campsites are large and private- surrounded by tall trees. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

I am not sure why this place doesn't have 1,000 stars, but to each their own. We took our son here to surprise him for his birthday and could not be happier.
Yes, it is difficult to get in to, but there is a reason for that. People have been coming here for generations and once you visit, you will see why.
You arrive on a long gravel road that turns in to a causeway leading to Goat Island. You are greeted by hundreds of mature trees and winding roads with kids riding their bikes all over like we were back in 1980. The office is small and always has a friendly face behind the desk. They have souvenirs, ice cream, and a small selection of groceries. You can also purchase ice and firewood there. In addition, they have a pontoon, fishing boats, kayaks, and other equipment you can rent.
Behind the office is the beach area. There is a volleyball court, playground, and a beautiful beach with all kinds of fun things, including water trampolines. There are some campsites up by the beach and cabins as well. If you drive down from the beach area there is a little arcade that has fun games-and the ones that you can actually play until you win instead of blowing your allowance for nothing.
The campsites are thoughtfully spread throughout the island. Each has an electrical hookup, but no water or sewer. They have water by the bathrooms to fill up and a guy comes every Thursday to pump black tanks if you need that service. Otherwise, the closest dump site is in Akeley at the campground there ($10).
They have some interior campsites, most of which are very roomy. The beachfront sites are beautiful, some are more shady than others. We stayed in 65, which is more open, but there were still plenty of trees between sites for privacy. Our site had a gorgeous sandy beach and the kids were in the water all day. We were able to bring the rental pontoon right up to our site too. If you have a boat, you can park that by your site if you have a waterfront site, or there are several spots on the island you can park it too.
There were a good variety of both tents and campers. Call their office for details on your rig, some sites cannot fit very big ones. They also know of a camper rental place too, in case you want to tow your boat or don't feel like tenting.
Overall, super friendly, clean, and just stunning surroundings. Lake Belle Taine goes on for days and is crystal clear. We found some decent fishing spots, but there are a lot of areas that are nothing but sand. It is a great recreation lake. Highly recommend!
Photos include our site 65, and some of our rentals one is at site 4 and the other was an interior site across the way.

My family has visited Camper's Paradise for several generations. My grandparents used to bring my father and his siblings and we went there as kids too. It is beautiful and kept in great condition. A few years back I took my husband there to see if he would be interested in booking a week and we did the following summer. Today I brought my daughter and a couple of her cousins to show them the island and see if they would want to camp there next year. I did not let them run around or even leave the vehicle until just before the road out. There is a boat access completely unoccupied and not in the way of traffic. I told them it isn't like some lakes that are slimey. I let them but their feet in and all children were within reach of me only as deep as their ankles. We were there all of three minutes and getting ready to leave. The owner lady pulls up and in a rude tone says are you guests. I said no not this season. We were in the area and I wanted to show the kids the island their family including great grandparents used to camp. I said we were just leaving but since I had her there asked if she knew if they still had cabin openings for next year. She snapped at me that they were full and said she would wait right there for us to leave. It honestly a crushing experience it has been a favorite place to go all my life. While I cannot say there was race discrimination like another reviewer said she gave my daughter who is brown a stare.

Amazing experience! We had an inside spot and it was perfect! Not to close to people, very quiet and amazing workers! They even brought water to us when we forgot to fill on our way in!
