Alley Spring

Our family has been visiting for several years. The campground is quiet and clean. The grandkids throughly enjoyed swimming and jumping off the rocks. We will be sure to be back next year!

When we got there we discovered there was NO WI-FI to reserve space so we had to get Ranger she told us to go to Canoe rental store use their's. We went there an could not do it for some reason even though space WAS available it was blocked out! Went back to park got Ranger she found spot with WI-FI she even tried couldn't reserve space,then finally tried another way was able to but wifi went out. So she let us set up then try later. We did eventually get it done but it was like by 8 or 9 pm. There should be a WI-FI Hotspot in the park so campers can easily do this. Even for a new night would have been a whole new hassle.
The next day my husband was coming to pick me up at the ramp after we rafted down the river he got stopped for not having his seat belt on. We understand he wasn't wearing a seat belt,however the park Ranger really gave him a time of it,and had a very nasty attitude about him. Also don't think it's legal to stop people just for not having a seat belt on any more and yes that's exactly what Ranger said he stopped him for. Then when he was picking me up another Ranger sped down an stopped at our vehicle watched us then drove off... Have to say we seen them pulling others over and they were approaching people VERY AGGRESSIVELY! Acting like they were stopping hardened criminals. Sitting at the shower we witnessed them pull over 3 vehicles between my husband an I. And the people didn't seem to be doing anything wrong. Thats alot for what 20 minutes. I get keeping things safe but my goodness. We did find the park clean and in good shape,Thank you. The female Ranger was beyond nice and helpful!!! She deserves notice
for it too!! Can't y'all make a box safe enough to bring back the envelopes? And if you have that many Rangers in the park it can be check couple times a week, right? Thank y'all for all you do. Hopefully you can bring box and envelopes back so we don't have all the chaos.

Enjoyable weekend. Campground well patrolled. Facilities in excellent shape considering it was flooded a few days before arrival. Compliments to the staff.

We loved visiting here. The park is clean and quiet, the people are friendly, and we had the best time. We especially loved that the park was so dark at night you could see every star and lightening bug. Thank you for the memories.

Jacks Fork river was closed due to flooding. Camp ranger came out to provide information.

Truly the worst camping check in experience ever.

We love Alley Springs and the Jacks Fork River. I and my family has been going there for over 50 Years.
We go there, pick a site and pay for it. But this year everything changed for the worst.
Be aware you have to register online for a site before setting up now! Not only that there is no way to tell if a site is reserved without getting on the recreation.gov website. That would not be bad but there is NO cell service there let alone any access to any wireless data.
You have to borrow internet off site from the kind Harvey’s store near by or drive a mile out of the park to access the internet to see which sites are available, then drive your camper back in to see which one you like then drive back out of the park to reserve it then drive back in to set up.
What a bad experience!!!!!
If you have to reserve online they need to either get someone to put a cell tower up to give the park Cellular Data service or at least make wifi available at the check in station.
Making reservations ahead of time is no good. You can’t know every site, or who will be next to you from home.
We don’t want to camp back to back to other campers or next to the weeds or in a flooded muddy site. You can’t see that from home.
They broke a perfect system.
Also tired of the park not protecting the camp ground from the river. They want it to be natural but have lost most of the park by not managing the river around the park. No one would mind them puttying large rock barriers around the park but instead half the sites have been destroyed along with the roads so loops 1, 2, and 3 can’t even be driven around anymore. Such a shame. Was once a beautiful camp ground.

Beware camping in 600 loop after rain or during rain. The asphalt to park your trailers on is way lower than the surrounding grass area so it gets extremely wet with standing water and mud. Every site needs to be re-leveled.

It’s a beautiful place as long as it doesn’t rain. The pads filled with water and a lot of mud and made it miserable! Most every site did this. Not a good time always cleaning up mud! And also it seems like the rules are going to the wayside with people parking on the grass and dogs running loose. Also when I booked my reservation they wanted to know what kind of equipment you had, you could have 1 camper and two tents. But at one site there came in two pop up campers and use one site and had 3 trucks. I seen the ranger go over there but I guess it was ok if you know them I believe it is special treatment because it clearly states 1camper and 2 tents per site. Just seems like the care of the campground is going down. I used to love down there.

River access is good, rock/sand bar across the road/bridge is much larger and less crowded. The Rangers were all friendly, offered good insight to the general area and history. Don’t forget to go check out the spring and mill house!
