Hubby and I came in early spring (May6-9) not knowing what to expect as we’re from Arizona. We did not need shorts! The weather was crisp, but not cold. Great for being outdoors. We were delighted to have bison as neighbors but kept stealthily away from them. Flocks of wild turkeys were about, with the males displaying their plumage to the females. The prairie dogs were active, and we got some great photos. Shy deer appeared at sundown. It’s a wonderful place with large sites and little interaction with other campers. We recommend it!

This campground was lovely. The sites were spaced out a bit to give some privacy and mine was very easy to back into. The views from my site were amazing - across the river with a lot of wildlife viewing. There were bison in the campground all day, which was a fun experience. I camped the first week in May and the only bathroom available was on the other loop, so it was a bit of a walk each time. Other than that it was great!
