About Cottonwood Campground (ND)

For people visiting the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Cottonwood Campground is a great place to stay. Located five miles (8 km) from the entrance to the South Unit of the park, the campground is open year-round. Cottonwood Campground has got to be the best National Park campground I have been to in a long time! The sites were nice, plus the wildlife coming and going thru was amazing. The morning Turkey alarm gobble was fun. Take the time to drive up to the North unit, I'm glad I did, there was so much more to see geologically. TRNP is a true hidden gem that is passed by. Glad I decided to make it part of my Spring trip! Only one "problem" during my stay was someone that obviously didn't know what time zone they were in and stared the generator and hour early. I got a good laugh!
