What Guests Are Saying

Cottonwood Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the close encounters with bison and the serene natural surroundings, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. Beautiful campground with great views. Very quiet. Bathrooms left much to be desired, though. Sink faucet handles need to be held to remain on which makes washing hands difficult. Bathroom light was motion sense (I guess?) and would NOT turn on for me in the morning. Toilet was not very clean. If bathrooms had more attention, would have been a terrific stay.

You are close to many trailheads and very close to Medora if you need supplies or just want to visit this charming little town. I recommend the "Cowboy Cafe" for a great breakfast! It was a lot of fun to do the scenic loop in the evening and do the Buck Hill turn off and watch a beautiful sunset and see herds of Buffalo and Mule deer feeding. The Cottonwood campground is well kept, only downside there are no showers. My site was a walk-in and nicely secluded C-59. Next time I might get a site a little closer to the car so as to do less hauling. My final morning I had Buffalo walk into my campsite as I was packing, We just ignored each other and he went on his way. All in all a great campground!

We stayed in the South section of the park at site 55 and 57 facing the river. The views were lovely. The sites were large and had plenty room for tents. Most have shade except #57 and #58. We enjoyed the stay and wished to have stayed longer
