What Guests Are Saying
Cottonwood Campground offers a beautiful and peaceful experience with spacious, well-maintained sites and clean facilities. Many visitors enjoyed the close encounters with bison and the serene natural surroundings, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts. While some noted issues with insects and site leveling, the overall atmosphere and friendly camp hosts contributed to a memorable stay.

Nice campground. I had a site that was relatively private (051). If I returned I'd shoot for the campsites that have views of the river. The bathroom facilities are new and very nice. I was close to a small trail with access to the river which is a nice little hike and room to walk the river bed. There were water fill stations throughout the CG, ours had standing water around it so not optimal.

Happy with the site & location. The only downside was the restroom on our end of the campground was under reconstruction so had to walk to the other end of the loop to use the facilities.

Loved how our campsite backed up to an open field with the river behind it. Also loved how the Cottonwood leaves russled at night in the breeze - sounded like rain showers. And loved hearing the coyote that howled and soon after many others also howled for several minutes!
Got up at first light to drive the loop road - best light for photos. Also that's when the buffalo herds and wild horses are out. Abstract rock formations with dramatic lighting if you look for them.
