I have been going to Burns run west since I was a young kid with my parents. Now I'm taking my kids. Great place to teach kids values of nature. The roads, sites, and everything else is great. Appreciate the rangers continous patrols.

People in B20 wanting to use our electricity. We told them no. Still a lot of glass in the campsites and beach. We pick up when we see it. Park Hosts are great! Really appreciate them. Other than that, all is great.

Our site B001 was unfortunately fully in the sun the whole day, and extremely hot. It was sadly so so hot with no place to find shade. The bathrooms were ok, but there was no ventilation in the showers so it was like a sauna. Difficult to breathe in there. It was also a very long walk to the bathroom.
It was also a bummer that the playground was very far from our site. Our kids never got to play, as we would have drive them there.
Bugs were a big issue. Ants were all over including fire ants. My kids were covered head to toe in bug bites and were miserable.
On the plus side, the beach was nicely maintained and had a great place for kids to swim. You have to drive there, as it’s a bit far to walk. We had a lot of fun there.

The first night we were there, a metal picnic table fell on me and my guest. We were just bruised and it was no big deal, until this week one of the bruises turned into an infection and I had to go to the DR and was put on antibiotics. One of the people that helped pull the table off of us did report it and the rangers did come speak to us the next day. They said nothing could be done about the picnic table, that it couldn’t be anchored down. It was a freak accident, but we will not bring our camper back there.

The spot we had was a perfect location. But over the years this campground has become a spot for to many drunks... People park wherever they want and absolutely no inforcement of loud obnoxious behavior, by park rangers. Actually had someone take the sodas out of my outside fridge and a lighter off the table while we slept one night... probably won't stay here again....
