Growing up this was always a favorite, it was quiet, and way cheaper than other recreation sites. Upon visiting this year we noticed the gratuity box and sign were replaced with, a sign stating you had to create an account and pay online to camp and such. Difficult to do in an area with spotty reception.
It was quiet until about two am when we had teenagers run through our camp site assuming we were asleep and tried to take a fishing pole and tackle I had next to my tent. We managed to scare them off without it escalating or needing to call law enforcement. Very upset and unable to sleep for fear of unexpected visitors the rest of the night .

Cute spot, convenient location! Our site (Site 2) was level and large with a nice view of the water. We arrived Sunday night - there were a few folks partying, but they didn't bother us and left by 11pm. Internet connection allowed me to work in the morning too. Appreciated this nice place to car camp! Thanks!

We arrived for just an overnight stay while motorcycle touring. When we got there and set up camp everything was good. It was quiet and peaceful, but the bathrooms were filthy and full of so many bugs that you couldn't even walk in them to use them. Then, about 11pm as we were sleeping, several car loads of young people arrived and started partying at the lake. There were cars coming and going until early morning hours. We got no sleep at all. I get that there's no attendant on duty, but at least a drive through at night would be helpful.

The next morning as we were packing up, a guy in a pickup truck did show up to collect the garbage and I'm assuming to clean the bathroom, however ... I watched him grab a bucket and either broom or mop and walk into the men's bathroom and wasn't even in there 15 seconds before coming back out, throwing the bucket in the truck and leaving. I'm positive you can't clean the men's room in that time and he didn't even bother going into the women's at all.

Very disappointing and I feel like I overpaid for the site for a night.

There was nothing indicating I had reserved the site, and I had to tell folks who were using it as a picnic site that I had reserved it - they weren't happy being told they couldn't use my spot, there should have been some sort of "Reserved" notice placed on the site. There was a lot of broken glass in the areas where we erected tents - the place had a lot of trash. I won't camp there again.
