What Guests Are Saying

Holiday Acres Camp Grounds offers a clean and well-maintained environment, with a pleasant lakeside setting and friendly staff. Many guests enjoy the range of activities, including weekend events and a kid's recreation hall. However, the management has received mixed reviews, with concerns about transparency, responsiveness, and the handling of conflicts, which detracts from the overall experience for some visitors.

I will let these photos of our stay here speak for themselves. We were here for exactly one month for my husband's job in Providence. Despite the record-breaking blizzard that occurred the week before we arrived, the owners still said they had a spot for us. We were surprised considering the amount of snow they received, but they said they had a full hook-up waiting for us, and we were appreciative until we realized what we had just walked into. Their website shows a nice clubhouse with restrooms and laundry room - two things that are very important to us when we travel. When we arrived and asked where the amenities were located, we were told they were actually closed for the season and only opened "the worker lot" where there was no access to the rest of the park (no bathhouse, no laundry, and no full hookup - they come and pump you out once per week unless you want to use the lovely porta johns they offer). We, and a handful of other unlucky souls, were literally stuck in an icy/snowy/slushy/muddy mud hole with hardly anywhere to walk our dogs. We had AAA on standby because the mud was so deep, we weren't sure we'd be able to pull out on our own. Gravel was brought in the last week we were there only because they were preparing for their open season in April. For the entire time we were there though, there was no gravel going in or out of the park. We had to purchase plywood to place under our camper steps to keep from sinking into the mud as we entered and exited the camper. We spoke to the owners 2x on the phone before our arrival, and never once was it explained to us that the park was closed to everyone except for the "worker lot" where there would be no access to the amenities advertised on their lovely website. We were charged $1400/mo for this mud hole, and we felt really mislead and overcharged - they should've never rented this spot to anyone in the condition the park was in. We will never return here, and we suggest you don't either if you are needing a place to stay while the park is closed for the season. We will definitely commute further to avoid staying here again. It could be decent in their warmer, open months, but if you will be staying in the "worker lot," RUN AWAY. We understand heavy snow, but don't rent a spot to someone if the spot/park is in such poor condition because of it OR at least give a heads-up and be transparent about the situation OR lower the price.

Not a bad campground. Was there seasonal. The place is kept in good condition for the most part. The problem is the manager. If he doesn't like you out you go. I call him a part time manager who spends about 3-4 hours a day in the office. If you have a problem after hours good luck getting help. No after hours contact. If you don't see it his way it's no way. Unfortunately I enjoyed my time there but manager showed me the door.

My husband and I were looking for a campground in Rhode Island that had cabins. We just didn’t feel like dragging our pop-up and doing all the setting up for this trip. The cabins, I believe, are all rustic which was fine. We stayed in the Doll House. It was very clean! As were the bathrooms right across the street! They look like they may have been recently painted. We did have to drive every morning down to the shower as it would be quite a long walk with all your stuff. They were also very clean! And so were the bathrooms down there! The few employees that were interacted with were all very friendly. The campground itself was clean. No broken down/abandoned campers. The sites are VERY close to each other!!!! So if you’re looking for privacy, you probably won’t get it. He happened to be there towards the end of September, it was Halloween weekend. So the only time there was a lot of people there was Saturday and Saturday night. The rest of the weekend was pretty quiet. I’m sure it gets very busy and crowded in the summertime. You do have to drive to get anywhere, but I mean that’s to be expected. We want to go back with our whole family and each of us will just rent different cabins. There are two separate entrances so be sure when you’re checking in you use the entrance where the office is not the one further down the street. The only reason I gave it four stars is because of the closeness of each of the campsites, and I wish they would put a Another bath house up at the top of the hill. Other than that, my husband and I totally enjoyed our stay and we will be going back!!

My family and I have been seasonal campers at Holiday Acres for seven years and love it here! The beach on the lake, fishing, relaxing, and the friends we’ve made over the years are all reasons why we love it here. The prices are reasonable and the sites are sizable compared to other locations with seasonal camping. There are bands and food trucks scheduled on weekends throughout the summer in addition to various activities for kids and adults. The kid’s rec hall is frequented by our son with games and tables to play cards and other games. Guests are allowed to visit and/or stay overnight for a fee. It’s a great place where a family can enjoy time together.

This place has so much drama and the manager does nothing about it. He is one sided and rude. Also, he has his staff do his dirty work. They need a better manager in that place. The campground has so much potential and he does nothing to improve it. It has little to none amenities. It's gets improve with campers expenses. I have also learned to many snitches that report to him. I will never stay at a campground that I have to walk on eggshells. You are there to make memories not to be watched! Hopefully someday that campground will go back to what it once was.
