What Guests Are Saying
Lynches River County Park offers a range of enjoyable features, including well-maintained trails, an environmental center, a playground, and a splash pad area. The park's natural beauty and recreational options are appreciated, but visitors noted a lack of trail signage and accurate maps, leading to confusion on the hiking paths. While the park has great potential, some guests feel it is under-managed and could benefit from better trail guidance and maintenance.

I enjoyed my time here. The trails could use more signs otherwise there are facilities, environmental center, tree bridge, playground and more.

During this trip we focused on the Nature hike trail. They're well maintained trails and are easy to hike on as the terrain is flat with minimal up or down slope. However there are no markings to guide hikers on the directions at multiple forks. We ran into multiple fellow hikers who were trying to find the correct trails at junctions.

Park has a nice side for the water splash areas. But if you are interested in hiking there no need to come in less u want to get lost. The park trails map is so inaccurate. They are no markers along the trail and you can see how abandoned that section of the park is.
This is a free entry park. Maybe charge 2 bucks of entrance to add some markers. Or maybe they made money from having to rescue people that get lost. Hope it gets a small renovation soon

This was our first time visiting, and we came prepared to stay for about a half a day and see what the place offered. We started out on the hiking trail, which went across some boardwalks, right along the river and turned into the woods where we hiked for about a mile in a loop.
We met a couple of people along the route and then we headed up to the environmental center as there was supposedly a canopy book boardwalk, if the back door of that facility.
Indeed. There was a canopy treetop rope, swing connected to a platform and in total. There were four rope swings with four platforms. I'm totally free of charge and no helmet or harness required which sounds a little scary but the sides of the bridge were shoulder high.
Behind that is the playground and we heard quite a few children playing there before heading up the road about a quarter of a mile to the splash pad and picnic area. The splash pad was inside of a fence for protection of the children. I would assume and also they serve food, French, fries, chicken sandwiches. I saw cotton candy. I'm sure they have drinks.
They also have a climbing wall and as we pulled up to the splash pad area, there was a sign outside that said the the climbing wall was open.
The splash pad entry fee is $6 for the day other than that, everything else here was free. And I did not check on the climbing wall, it's probably not something that's going to happen in my future.

The possibilities of this park is amazing. Unfortunately it's undermanaged and not very rarely taken care of. The markers are blank so when you're on a trail you don't even know where you are and all the trails kind of seem to cross over each other. The maps. There's only one when you enter the trail so take a picture. Other than that, the website really doesn't help. There's plenty of opportunity for maps to be located along the trails. You have all these these stops that have Windows that you can easily place a map and say here. You're here less likely for people to get lost trails. Go different ways. Like I said those markers are empty. There's nothing on them so if you don't know the area and you're just in the state to visit and you wanted to see the beautiful of South Carolina, it's it's a nice Park. Unfortunately it's under managed. Not very well taken care of. I have provided pictures. Plenty of areas to put a map of any of the walks. Even the the map at the beginning of the trail was not correct. We had it on our phone and other trails crossed over what seemed to be trails crossed over I'm leaving would have left needs somewhere completely else. Place is confusing a lot of potential just very poorly managed. Highly disappointed. Like most of the South Carolina parks and racks they're they're very poorly managed. Not well taken care of. Wonder where all those funds are going. Clearly not in the Parks.
