Truly a great experience for anyone who wants to deal with the giant spiders! Under Canvas should be on your “before I die” bucket list. It’s more of an experience than I cozy hotel but it works. The best part is how close it is to the park, every day whilst staying here I’d go into the park. My other favorite part is how beautiful the stars are at night with no light pollution. Highly recommend.

This was a great experience from the second we arrived until the moment we left. The place itself is beautiful! The lady who greeted us was SO nice and helpful. Loved the little tour/info session. Truly, every single employee we interacted with was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. I don't think I have ever experienced such great customer service (even compared to luxury hotel stays). The amazing customer serviced mixed with the awesome space made it a fun and memorable stay. We enjoyed all of the little things - the tetherball, corn hole, lobby area, etc. The tent itself was amazing. Loved all the little details. It was VERY clean. Again, cleaner than any hotel! I think we were most surprised by the bed. The bed was a DREAM! Soooo very comfy. We came during a time that was pretty cold, but that bed was so cozy and warm. The mattress itself and all of the sheets, blankets, comforter - all of it was just perfect. It was such a great experience! The only two areas that I think could use some improvement would be expanding the dining menu (also portions were on the small side for the price) & putting more comfortable seating in/outside of the tent. The chairs inside look very cute, but they are not comfortable to sit in. Same for the chairs outside. It would be nice to have better and more comfy seating for stargazing. I would say those are minor things though. The overall experience was wonderful.

Under Canvas Zion is a unique and beautiful experience. About a 30 minute drive to the park, it’s not the most convenient place to stay, but it’s easily the most beautiful. We stayed in the star gazer tent and were lucky to have cloudless skies every night. Everyone was so helpful and the food was fantastic. There was live music every night we stayed and we loved the community spaces, board games, and activities planned. Weather is definitely a factor as the tents are not air tight. We stayed at the very end of October and our fire went out before morning so it was definitely chilly in the tent until we got the morning fire lit. However the bed had layers of covers so sleeping comfort was not at all an issue. Highly recommend.

We hand a wonderful experience at Under Canvas Zion. We felt close to nature but with the comforts of en suite plumbing (and yes the water in the shower was heated!) and a very comfortable king sized bed. The stargazing was incredible. I loved the scenery of being tucked in the canyon. I actually enjoyed not having Wi-Fi to keep myself unplugged, but we did have good cell reception in the tent. The food was tasty. Reading some of the other less pleased reviews I would urge you to keep in mind that while this is "luxury camping" it IS camping and it IS a tent, not a cabin.

One of the most disappointing (and overpriced) travel experiences we’ve ever had.
The tent was miserably hot — and we’re native Floridians, so that says a lot. We were given three fans from the front desk, but they repeatedly shut off during the night, forcing us to get up with flashlights just to turn them back on.
The “luxury amenities” advertised on the website were nowhere to be found. The shower chain would not stay engaged, so we had to shower with one hand while holding the chain with the other. When we asked about it, we were told this was “normal.” The bed situation was another disappointment: the tent we booked was supposed to include a king bed. Instead, it was two twins pushed together to "make" a king. Every time we moved or got up to restart the fans, the mattresses separated, leaving a large, uncomfortable gap. On top of that, there were sizeable openings in the floor near the head of the bed where anything could crawl in — not exactly reassuring after being told it was tarantula mating season.
Even small comforts weren’t handled well. Both times we went to the lobby for coffee (in the evening and the following morning), it was stone cold. They made a fresh pot only after we pointed it out.
The bed did not push back far enough into the clear piece of canvas that was built into the tent for stargazing, so we couldn't even lay normally in the bed and look up to see stars...we had to go outside for that, but our room was one of the closest to the lobby and outside restaurant seating area, and they didn't turn off the hanging string lights until about 10:30, so we still couldn't get a good view of the sky.
We had to leave during the day just to find A/C and WiFi to check on our kids. When we returned in the evening, the tent was still unbearable, so we checked out and forfeited our second night. No one at the front desk asked why we were leaving or if anything could be done.
It was painful to throw away over $500, but it simply wasn’t worth staying. The website oversells the experience and the property doesn’t deliver. For $1,100 total, we expected so much more. We had just stayed in a stargazing dome at Bryce Canyon that far exceeded expectations — understated online, but incredible in person. This was the complete opposite.
Even the location was misleading. The website makes it sound like the property is right by Zion’s entrance. In reality, the official entrance is almost a 30 minute drive.
We immediately went down the road to Wildflower Zion after checking out and had a completely different (and far better) experience — air conditioning, a pool, BBQ grill, and actual comfort — for $200 less per night.
We will absolutely return to Zion National Park, but next time we’ll either stay at Wildflower Zion or at one of the adorable boutique hotels in Springdale. You still get gorgeous scenery there, plus restaurants and shops right outside the park — a far better experience for your money. Even the Fairfield Marriott across from Wildflower (12 minutes closer to Zion) would have been a better experience.
