The campground is beautiful. What caused us to leave early . . . only pit toilets and no showers . . . confusion about dates for season ending (we ended up with no reservation for 9/11 and only a musical chairs version of getting one). The method for vying for camp sites when the park closes is unthinkable in these crazy times. Can't imagine the contentiousness that could arise.

Highway 20 is close, but not too loud. Wonderful little area by the river where the rafting tours put in.

Other than the bathrooms, which were worse than most TH privies that we've been to, we had a fabulous time!

The sites near the water are just perfect. Lovely rushing water sounds and gorgeous views. We walked around the entire campground and all the sites seemed roomy with good tree cover. We will definitely go back

Small, quiet tent only campground by the Goodell river/creek. Nice base for exploring the NCNP. Be warned, it is pit toilets only and the flush toilets at the Newhalem CG up the road were in terrible condition.
