What Guests Are Saying

South Fork campground offers spacious sites with stunning views, clean facilities, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a top choice for campers. Guests appreciate the attentive and friendly camp host, Debbie, who maintains the bathrooms impeccably. The nearby trails and creek add to the campground's charm, although some sites are close together, and there are occasional concerns about fire pit maintenance.

We stayed at SouthFork Campground (site 003) for one night on our way to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and were very pleased with the experience. Very easy booking on Recreation.gov. Being along side Clear Creek the sound of the rushing water down the embankment was mesmerizing and the tall pines all around was very picturesque. Plenty of rpivacy. The camp Host stopped bye and was very friendly. The nearby vault toilet (just across street) was very clean and the potable water source at the edge of our campsite was very convenient. We setup camp quickly and got a quick 2 mile or so hike in along the creek to the reservoir before dark. Ice and firewood was available for purchase from host 8am-8pm. No showers but that was not a big deal.

Perfect camp site. The 5 tent-only sites were spaced out and very quiet. We drove through several campgrounds on our trip and felt that the South Fork location (both tent-only and traditional sites) was the nicest we found. The campground and toilets were very clean. It is only 20-25 minutes back to Buffalo if you want to re-supply. There is a mile long trail that starts at the tent-only sites and goes to the back side of the Tie Hack Reservoir. Couldn't be happier with our stay.
