Great old well-maintained cabin in a beautiful location along former narrow gauge railway line. Nearby old railroad town of Como is great. Be sure to hike around up at Boreas Pass. And the drive over to/from Breckenridge is fantastic. Thanks Forest Service for having this wonderful old cabin available for rental.

My only complain is the insane amount of mice. They even pooped on the bed I was on while I was sleeping.

It’s peaceful, quiet, and dark at night. The road a halve mile away but within sight had around a dozen cars a day, few enough to be curious to look each time. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 is because of a mouse ( probably mice, it was a point of contention). It’s in the woods so, yeah, it has a mouse but I forgot how loud they were at night without electricity. We only seen one but it sounded like more at night, possibly 3. Definitely plan on going back.

I don't mind dirty or mice, but it was TOO dirty and TOO poopy. Snowed through the door and windows and didn't know we had to supply our own wood - arrived in a blizzard and was VERY cold. Could NEVER stay upstairs due to cold and poop. LOTs of broken glass near cabin.
