We had the most extraordinary weekend at the Wilderness Campground! Children, grandchildren, and a great grandchild rounded out our family get-together. It was so enjoyable, we are hoping to make it a family tradition at this campground. The grounds were kept amazingly clean, all staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. As soon as we pulled in to register, we felt welcomed. Staff definitely set the tone for our weekend get-away. There are so many fun activities for kids of all ages that we did not get to all of them. I cannot say enough positive things about this wonderful, fun, peaceful get away to the Wilderness Campground. We will see you next season!!

Well this year was different but ok.
1) We arrived for the spring fling only to be told we were now be charged for electricity, even thought small, was just the fact of not being told until we were standing there.
2) We had a weekend we came up and already had family up there a crossed from where our site was. So I called to make sure we are all good for early check in. The lady I talked to was extremely rude and snippy. I told her I just wanted to confirm there wasn't going to be issue as we are aware no on was on our lot since the night before.
3) Fall Fling - we arrived to discovered the inflatables are out and pool is closed. We had 3 great weekends to be able to use them of the 6 we were there. In previous years we have had 2-3 weekends of the 6 weeks before they closed the pool and removed all of the inflatables. They usually left at least one of the inflatables in the until the 2 or 3 weekend.
4) We are going to truly miss the fall fling as the price increase, while still is cheaper then normal costs is beyond what we feel makes sense. We now pay electricity, no pool and no inflatables for any of our time there.
We will still be back for spring fling as we have a group of us and we have a few other weekends scheduled. Hope things level out over the next year as we truly love all the other aspects of the campground. And I just want to shout out to Seth who always was a joy to interact with in the food shop.
Thank you
Sheri

Not having been to this campground for over 15 years my husband and I came a toured it back in July and let our group know how happy we were with the layout and amenities. We all have "big rigs" and it is so nice to be in the newer area that you developed. So, we made our fall camping trip reservations with Wilderness and could not have been happier! Our entire group was so pleased that we re-booked for next year and now know that if we want to sneak another trip into our summer plans you will be a location we would love to come to. From the terrific sites to the nice quiet times (that seemed to be enforced) to the very pleasant staff everything was wonderful and we will be back!

The disc golf course is nice, but as a local, I have other options before paying $10 a round. If I drive a little further, to Green Lake, there is Zobel park. This course is actually nicer than Wilderness and is even free. I can go to Poynette for a nice 9 holes, and get this, it is nicely designed, well maintained, and free. I don't expect anything to be free, but if you have to take a drive, Wilderness is not worth the $10 a pop. It funny that for as much money as this place hauls in, they feel the need to pass on the cost of cutting the grass to the players. I'll pass.

We have been seasonals here for 23 years. We have been through all the wonderful changes and upgrades. This is our 2nd home we raised our 2 adult kids here. They played outside not in front of screens! It’s beautiful campground with a lot to do. We have made the best of friends over the years best family decision we made!
