Spruce Grove is a great little campsite for a quick getaway! Loved that they have a beach right at the campsite—it’s such a nice touch. Unfortunately, the pool wasn’t in service during our stay, and the washrooms could use a bit more daily cleaning. Showers were decent, but could definitely be a little cleaner too. Overall, we had a fun experience and would give it a solid 4/5. It might depend on which site you get—we stayed at site 270, which was great, but noticed some other sites looked a little tight with not much privacy. Prices felt a bit high, but we still appreciated the stay and will definitely be back. Cheers!

I've been coming here for about 5 years, and this is still one of the best-value campgrounds around. It's affordable, has everything you need for a week of camping, clean washrooms and showers, a great little beach on the river, and it's close to golf courses, lakes, farmers markets, and the Fairmont Hot Springs. Pro tip: Go after 8:30 PM for the cheaper evening rate—it's perfect when you've got young kids.

I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this one's more for the owners than future campers. This place has so much potential, and it feels like it's been neglected. If there's a big renovation plan in the works, let people know, I’d happily update this review.

A few years ago this was an easy 5-star campground. Today I'd give it 3 stars. It's still a great deal for the money, but it's not what it used to be.

The biggest things that need attention:
- Fix the pool. It's been closed for years, and it's time.
- Bring back the playground. Every family campground should have one.
- Keep someone at the front office more consistently and stock the store with a few more essentials and maybe an ice cream freezer.
- The washrooms are surprisingly clean, but they could use updated fixtures, better shower shelves, and a fresh epoxy floor.
- One other thing: The campsite beside the river access should be removed. Everyone cuts through it all day to get to the beach, which isn't fair to the people camping there. Turn it into a picnic area and build proper stairs down to the river. Right now it's tough for seniors, and someone is eventually going to get hurt.

Overall, I still recommend staying here because it's hard to beat the price and location. I just hope the multi-millionaire owners start putting some money back into this place because it could easily be a 5-star campground again.

We stayed here 8 years ago, and it has deteriorated since then. We knew the pool was not operational, but the rest of the campground was looking neglected. We don't need fancy amenities when camping, but we also don't appreciate things being run down. Don't get excited about the beach here because it is very small and mostly grown over, and you need to take a walk through a narrow bush trail and get eaten by mosquitoes to get to the water. The shower house was not terrible, but could use some upkeep as well and a deep cleaning as well, and the outhouses were boarded up with some porta potties placed around instead. The in campground roads are rough and littered with potholes. The grass all around needs some mowing and care, and by cutting the grass and weeds around the water would help with the bugs and mosquitoes. We had one of the back, more private sites, and the tree privacy was nice, but again they were unkept and growing into the site making it narrow and a breeding ground for the mosquitoes. I won't be staying here again. There is not any security or evening attendant, so the who campground turns into a loud party place all night long, with music blaring and people yelling and screaming late into the night. I have camped at a lot of different campgrounds and this was by far the worst I have ever been to and had the worst night sleep I have ever had camping. We were booked to spend 5 nights here while we explored the local area, but ended up leaving after 3 nights because it was unbearable. Listen to the other reviews like we should have and stay somewhere else. STAY AWAY!!!

Spacious sites, some along the pretty river. Lots of flat areas to ride bikes. The young woman working last Wednesday afternoon was really friendly and helpful.

We’ve been going for 4 years with a group. Very neglected campground, the pool has been closed for over a year with no signs of opening and the playground was also taken out. We enjoy going for the river float and camp with our friends but if it weren’t for them we wouldn’t be back. Overpriced for what they offer.
