We are locals but I was volunteering at the Sooke Fine Arts Show so this was a perfect location for walking to SEAPARC. Pride of this campground is evident from the moment you turn in. The manager, Lesley, has put a lot of work into making this a great destination for people coming to explore Victoria and surrounding area or locals. The campground is ideal for family, solo, couples or groups. I'll stay again when volunteering at the art show. We had site 35; a nice large open campsite in front of the group fire pit.

This place is awesome. Great trails, hiking and biking. Kayaking up the river is fantastic. Sites are kept very clean. Lesley, Mike and Lorna are amazing, they go above and beyond to help all fellow travellers. The amenities are very well kept and convenient. We spent many hours at the playground with the grandkids... So fun!! And the home made treats are dangerous LOL deff coming back! Thanks!

We were very impressed with the overall upkeep of the campground, very clean and well landscaped, you can tell they put in the extra time into cleaning and maintenance. The bathrooms are top notch as far as campgrounds go, we hope we can get back here soon, the riverside was beautful. The first night was a bit mosquito-ey, so just plan ahead for that. 10/10 thanks for the stay!

We loved this campground! We had to stay here after a road closure prevented us from getting to our planned campground and we are happy it did! The groundskeeper was really nice, the campsite was great and had everything you could need, the campsite also has some items you can borrow (we borrowed camping chairs). Overall it feels cozy and like you are in a safe space or your grandmas farm.

We absolutely loved our stay at River Sooke Campground! From the moment we arrived, the campground had such a happy, welcoming, and relaxing vibe. Surrounded by the peaceful river and beautiful nature, it is the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy the outdoors.
The campground and public amenities were very clean and well cared for. And honestly — these were some of the best camping showers we have experienced! We also really enjoyed the basketball court, and the kids’ campground/play area is amazing for families. It was also great to see they offer deals for cyclists, which makes the campground feel even more welcoming and community-minded.
A huge thank you to the wonderful hosts Mike and Lorna, and to Manager Leslie, for being so kind, helpful, understanding, and friendly during our stay. Every staff member we met made us feel welcome and added to the positive atmosphere of the campground.
And of course, we cannot forget Pedro — the famous campground cat and unofficial manager! Pedro happily greets campers and adds so much personality and fun to the experience.
River Sooke Campground truly feels like a special little gem where happy campers, nature, and great people all come together. We left with amazing memories and cannot wait to come back!
