This place is 'rustic' and run down. The facilities are shaby, the 'kitchen' is not equipped with anything, no privacy at all as the sites are super crammed together, and the sound of the the train passing by at night is very loud. Overall the worst site we stayed at out of 8 places on our trip (and one of the most expensive one). Even the Big Stop gas station was nicer than here.

We tented for 2 nights at site #35. It is a large site, with lots of grass, and sun.
We were able to enjoy a campfire, with firewood we purchased from campgrounds.
Highlights - able to hear all the wildlife from nearby wildlife park. The wolves and coyotes would howl a little each night. It was so nice.
The train goes by, which was a highlight for us as well.
A small nearby town with all your essential needs, just 4 mins away.
And lots of strip bass fishing areas nearby.
We will be back for sure!
The owners were very kind and accommodating

I have come here every summer for the past three years and it has yet to disappoint. An amazing community and a clear calming lake welcoming for all. It gets busy during the weekend which inevitably can get loud with the wrong crowd especially around holidays or events pland by the campground. I have found everyone to be extremely understanding after talking to them. The sites are relatively small but not at all unreasonable. I would absolutely recommend stopping by and checking the place out! Everyone is so friendly, never afraid to have a conversation.
