This is an amazing property with lots of space for hanging out with friends and family. The river/creek front was great, and with the rains last year, it flowed pretty high. The fridge, stove, not water, flush toilets, and SHOWERS were amazing to have.

A fall place to be! My family was so happy to get reservations at Harvey West cabin and went full of excitement. We we’re excited about the cabin but weren’t thinking about the beauty outside. The fall colors surrounded us, making our walks even more enjoyable. Can’t wait to be able to visit again. This year we’re thinking about summer and floating on the lake. Thank you Harvey West and staff for such a remarkable place to visit.

I hadn't been to the cabin in 20 years, and not much changed. Even smelled the same. Definitely roomy enough and the wrap around deck is great to sit and listen to the river.

Taking a step back in time to enjoy true mountain hospitality, the Harvey West Cabin offers a blissful experience right alongside the glistening waters of the American River. While the cabin does not have cell service or wifi, what you will find is a truly better connection. From the great room to the lofts above, its ample space can accommodate the largest of families with more to offer.

Great place, great location on river. Only downside is that when we were there (early August), had a lot of "looky-Lou's" wandering around the cabin, wanting tours. At least two or three per day. While harmless, we had our kids and it was a bit unnerving to always have to be looking over our shoulders if some stranger was going to be poking their head into the cabin.

This was a great location for all 12 men in the family to spend a long weekend at. The cabin is rustic, but comfortable. The location associated to the river, and the fly fishing were awesome. The kitchen stalked with pots, pans and utensils was a bonus. The propane lamps keep the cabin warm. Even with temps down to the 50s at night we kept windows open, and it felt great. Everyone in our group wants to return. For $105 a night you can't beat it. With the current fire restrictions, we used our own propane grills and griddles outside on the porch to prepare all of our meals. We look forward to returning.

Finally got a new refrigerator/freezer and stove, and oven that works! Great cabin, rustic but big.

The getaway our family needed. It was the perfect place to disconnect from everyday life and enjoy family time. This is our second year going and we cannot wait to be back!
