The sites were good but the mosquitoes were horrible. Water and pit toilets fair nothing to brag about. The river behind the camps was more like a creek no trout onky chubs.Nothing close by to do Ely was an hour away. Won't stay here again

Nice drive to this Campground...trees everywhere and gravel road=freedom !!!
Easy to find thanks to GPS . Arrived at site #7...easy to find due to signage to campsites.
Hit the pit toilet first...bear scat was my first view, alongside garbage area...which is where they are located ......but it's the northern wilderness :) Back to set up camp....sites are a good distance from each other. Very private I would say. A couple areas where I could put my single tent. The river ran right behind my site and I could also hear the river...quiet area. Not many campers..site host on site. I saw RV"s no tent campers besides myself....not many campers on my side of the campground. Nice fire pit....the camper before me left firewood. Picnic table also. The only negative were the @#$*):((( bugs as a fire did not help and there was no wind, the temperature was around 80 degrees. They do have water when you first pull into the Isabella Campgrounds. Very clean location and the pit toilet had TP. I would camp here again when it's cold..no bugs. Overall..A++

Our stay here was positive overall. Campground was quiet and not busy at all. The mosquitos and black flies were terrible, but it's June in northern Minnesota so that's to be expected. An OHV trail goes through the campground but there was not much traffic while we were there, and the riders were respectful and came through at a low speed. If you are looking for a quiet, remote spot this is a good option.
