This campground was absolutely one of the best we've stayed at. We stayed on site #6 which was very secluded and quiet, but all sites are large and spread out. Park staff helpful and friendly. We walked to the river launch area two nights and sat there until sundown watching the wildlife. Very pleased. Will stay here again if ever in the area.

We camped at a group site. The giant fire pit was the most impressive. Something different than other campgrounds was that the park attendant nor park rangers came directly to our campsite. I found that kinda odd that they didn't make at least one visit during our 3 nights there. Enjoyed time with family under the stars and by the campfire.

Beautiful spot and easy for river launch access. Stayed during the week and the campground was almost empty. A delightful experience.

I was was just okay this year. I went last year and it was much better. They really need to clean up the rotten trees and brush in this campsite especially. While we were there, a tree had fallen, luckily towards the river. The showers were closed due to covid, so it was kind of miserable at night not having some relief of a cool shower. Overall, its a great place to stay. It Just really needs a manicure on several trees and brush.

From Springfield, Missouri take U.S. Highway 65 south for 109 miles (175 km); then turn right at Ranger Road (follow signs) and drive another 2 miles (3.2 km) to visitor center and campground.
From Little Rock, Arkansas take Interstate 40 West for 34 miles (55 km), then exit "U.S. 65/Skyline Drive." From here continue on U.S. Highway 65 north for 74 miles (119 km) and turn left at Ranger Road (follow signs) to the visitor center and campground.
