We have camped at clear creek for years and love it. Some of the practices happening there at this time really made our stay not as enjoyable. For some reason, in the name of Covid they have closed all the bathouses but 2. 4 camping loops, funneled into 2 bathhouses. It makes absolutely no sense. Also don't think about bringing your own popup bathroom tent and portable toilet, the park ranger let us know that is not allowed. The bathroom situation is not made very plainly known when you are booking a site, so it was news to find out our loop had NO bathroom once we got to our site. Other than that situation we love clear creek. The paved bike path, picnic areas, hiking trails are all so enjoyable.

Loved how the sites were well spaced out. There was no "bad" spot.
Quite.

This is the worst place we have ever stayed. The camp host were very rude! We got yelled at because one truck tire was a little off of the pavement, on some dirt. After we moved it, the woman came back to inspect it. most sites are small, and not for bigger set ups. The double site is about the size of a regular site at most places.
I received a nasty email from them ahead of time about how we would be charged extra if we tried to check in early. They need to find a more professional way to say early check-ins are not allowed. We never had an issue checking in at any other COE campgrounds early. They need to open back up all the restrooms. They blame that on covid, but I think they are just to lazy to clean them. They need better host. This is the only place we have ever had a bad experience at. We will never go back here again!

We enjoyed the campground, we were in Bear loop site 104, the bathhouse was always clean and had hot water. The trails were a nice gem, and the wildlife was great to watch. Only downside was the swimming beach, it was closed due to low water and my kids were desperately wanting to swim. We traveled to Natural Bridge park about 40 min away and it was a neat place to hike thru also.
