Beautiful location on beautiful Smith Lake. Be careful which site you choose. Many flood during heavy rain and leave you with a muddy yard. Needs some upgrade with gravel on many sites. There were only 2 bath houses opened in the entire park.

We had and excellent time reconnecting with friends who had traveled from all over the country to camp at Clear Creek. We reserved four campsites in all. Three were on Fawn Loop and one was at Bear Loop. Being first timers to the campground we were surprised at how far It was from Bear to Fawn. After one night at Bear loop my husband and I went up to the rangers station in hopes of changing sites. The staff were accommodating and allowed us to move our site to be nearer our friends. Our ONLY complaint is there was only one operating bathroom at the campsite and it was on Bear loop. We were tent campers and were camping with small children so it was a constant shuttle back and forth to the bathroom.

My family and I enjoyed our time with friends at clear creek, but were very disappointed in the fact that there was only one bathhouse open. The fact that we were informed of this the day before we were to arrive was even more disappointing. We would definitely like to return, but only with all bathhouses operational.

I love Clear Creek. It’s so relaxing, and most of the spots are well shaded. It’s not too far from where I live, so I can do a quick weekend, though I enjoy longer visits best. It’s not as well known as some other campgrounds, so I stand a better chance of getting my favorite spots. The sites I’ve stayed in are quite level, and the area is well maintained. My activities are mostly limited to hiking and people watching...and Clear Creeknis great for both!

This trip was good. I would have gave it a 5 star but they only had one bathroom open for the whole camping area. That was aggravating to have to load up in vehicle and drive to bathroom every time you had to go. It was way to far to walk.
