We enjoyed a 2 wonderful nights at Prairie Creek. The beauty of the area and the waterfront camping on the Alabama River was exactly what we were looking for. The bathhouse is older and could use some TLC but overall we really enjoyed this campground!

The campground was beautiful and every site was good, no matter where you book. The walking paths offered exercise for pets as well as the play field next to the old bathhouse. However when very full, the bathroom was inadequate. Often the hot water was gone due to the number of campers without showers in their RV/s. They should take the old bathroom and renovate it with a lot of showers, people don't mind a little distance if the bathhouse is nice.
Boatlaunch was really nice and loved the tent camp area on the point. The deck areas could use some updating. Also, there were no trash cans anywhere except for the main dumpster. Definitely a go back to place, but be prepared, as nearest town is Selma or Montgomery. Be sure to visit the Museum, it is very enlightening

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the fire pit was full of trash. I called the office and they said they don't clean them. No other suggestions or explanation. So, I cleaned it myself. The next day I meet the camp host as they came around to clean. I found out that the people at the gate who amswer the phone are under different contracts than the people who clean. Moral of the story...go look for camp host if you have a problem.

Site 10 is nothing but a long driveway, backed into another site. Not even room for a picnic table & standing water on both sides when it rains. Our circle had 4 hunters leave every morning even though firearms aren't permitted in the campground, I'm sure they weren't carrying slingshots. A family with 3 campers & 7 dogs only used leashes about 10% of the time. Obviously your staff isn't paying attention, or just don't care.
