Normally I would say my experience was excellent. The only problem this time was a MAJOR problem, but not the fault of the employees. We had reservations (many sites) for our 11th annual family Thanksgiving gathering. We were in the section that lost power one day for 5 1/2 hours but then lost power again on the Monday before Thanksgiving. We were some that had to cancel all our plans and leave. The employees were excellent in advising us and helping us and refunding us. Last we heard, the power is still out and will be for several more days at least. We understand that this is also a big financial loss for the park and that makes us sad!

Stayed 5 nights. Campground did not have power to a large majority of sites. Had to run off generator. Will try it again and see what it’s like when the power is working. Was given a partial refund, but it didn’t even cover half the gas and propane spent for the week.

We love Gunter Hill Campground. The sites are very large, all of the sites in the Catoma section have FHU and they offer free laundry. This is our go to campground during the winter months since most of the other COE campgrounds close for the winter. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating is because the electricity went off twice during our stay, one time overnight and the second time for a few hours during the day. The camp hosts were extremely committed to having it repaired, but they were at the mercy of the electric company. We stayed November 2024.
