Gunter Hill Campground is praised for its beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained sites that offer privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Many visitors appreciate the helpful staff and convenient amenities, making it a favored stop during travels. While some noted minor issues with customer service and bathroom conditions, the overall experience is highly positive, with a strong likelihood of return visits.

Nice campground. Only stayed one night. Late check in was super easy. Everything was waiting at the office. Campsites right on the lake.

We know that COE campgrounds are always a great choice for us, and Gunter Hill is no exception. We have visited several times before and always find the facilities to be clean and stocked with everything we need, campground and sites are well-maintained, and the environment is lovely. Another plus is the good price!

Gunter Hill was a recommendation from a camper on a Facebook forum who responded when I made a query on where to camp in Alabama. I tend to prefer camping in National Parks when possible because I have the senior lifetime pass. I stayed at a kind of waterfront spot but found another one that I liked better and will try to reserve for my September trip to the Ozarks. Lovely park. Very large sites. Lots of shade. I really enjoyed my time.
Will definitely return.
