Gunter Hill Campground is praised for its beautiful, spacious, and well-maintained sites that offer privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Many visitors appreciate the helpful staff and convenient amenities, making it a favored stop during travels. While some noted minor issues with customer service and bathroom conditions, the overall experience is highly positive, with a strong likelihood of return visits.

Sights are very nice and deep, most are 90+ feet long. Very quiet all week, if there is a stock car race on the weekend, you might hear it. Saw deer almost every day, very peaceful place.

Lately, the Corps has given the place a little TLC. It shows. It’s a relaxing place to camp.

I have stayed at Gunther Hill twice in the past few months. The firat time was a weekday, the 2nd time a weekend. Big difference! While the campground itself is rhe same fabulous and spacious campground, plenty of space in between sites and clean too, on the weekends, there is the speedway. It is noisy! So if that is not up your alley, plan for a weekday. Honestly, I didn't see the signs going in but I definitely noticed them going out.
Anyhow, it really is a lovely park with great amenities.

Excellent experience. Nice shaded campsites. We were only one of two campers in the entire loop. Highly recommend if you just wanna get away from everything

The sites in the Catoma area are outstanding, long, level, shaded, fully paved, and private with full hookups. We go out of our way to stay here nearly every year in our motorhome when traveling north for the summer and south for the winter.
