SUCH a nice park! Easy access, wide open spaces, well-maintained sites … we had a water view and an early morning 4-footed visitor. As with most COE parks, the landscape is NOT all asphalt/concrete with zero plants/trees … we love them! It was quiet and peaceful - just what our travel-weary souls needed.

We stayed only one night, as we were passing through to our final destination. Our site was on the Catona loop. It was spacious, level and shady. The campground overall was quiet. A real treat was that some campers had Halloween decorations up - it was fun to walk around and look at all of them. We will stay another night on our way home, and have booked a multi-night stay Thanksgiving week. We recommend this COE campground!

The campground was great last year. This year was a different story. We stayed from Friday to Sunday. The restrooms weren't cleaned or restocked the entire weekend. I bought and supplied soap for the women's restroom and toilet paper for the men's restroom. It rained and the sewer gas odor woke us up in the middle of the night. It was terrible. The bathroom floors also flooded. We had a great experience last year and we had reservations months in advance for this year. It's very disappointing to see the decline. Staff was friendly on check-in. I'm not sure why they aren't maintaining the restrooms. Site 49 next to the bathhouse shouldn't be rented since there's no sewer gas mitigation.

We camp at GunterHill at least twice a year. This year we had some medical emergencies so things got complicated, so we had to make some adjustments with our site and had to extend our stay but the staff was amazing. So understanding and accommodating. I can't thank them enough. Also they've made some updates to their bath house. The renovations are really nice. One of the nicest bath houses we've been in. On a side note the showers can get a little slippery so be mindful of that. My daughter slipped and fell. Thankfully she didn't get hurt. We also dealt with ants. They got inside of my camper and into our food. My parents in a site a few campsites down from us also got ants inside their camper. This was our first time dealing with that so hopefully they get this taken care of. They had some racing down the road at a race track and that can get a little load. Thankfully it wasn't to bad this time. Overall we really enjoy Gunterhill. Its got spacious sites and they have nice fire pits and picnic tables.
