Bluff Creek

1st day of us there was the 1st day of campground opened season, the bathroom was locked. Other things were good, oh I saw group of deer, it seemed that they are campground owner.

When we arrived all the campsites were covered with pine needles, fallen branches and leaves. We had to drive 20 miles to buy a rake which we shared with 4 other campers. The sites were covered so badly, the pads and parking spaces were Impossible to find. Terrible experience to clean our site. The cleaning crew from Anderson were sitting in their truck and when we asked if they were going to blow the campsites their response was “no we get off in an hour so we will just sit here until the hour is up”. A fellow camper asked them if he could borrow a rake and he said yes. Whoever is paying workers to sit in their truck perhaps it’s time to have a supervisor on site or find another company that will work..
The one bright spot are the volunteers who cover the office.

The park it beautiful. The facilities need a little TLC. There were 2 women’s showers but only one had a shower head. Also, the main gate is locked from10pm-7am, not sure why it needed to be locked.

I swear this place is the honey hole. If you’re looking for a place to escape and feel like you’re a part of nature, this is it. The stars were beautiful at night away from the city, it’s right on the river, and there’s places to pull your boat/canoe/kayak right up to some of the spots. The workers were so very kind and we seen them often riding around making sure everyone was good. One of them even helped me figure out a way to pump up my air mattress, because I completely forgot to bring a pump. They also made sure we found the perfect spot for our requests and it exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be going back soon!

Campsite was fine, restrooms clean, personnel very friendly and helpful. If you want to bring a boat and be able to pull it up to your campsite, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there is nothing to do, no trails and pretty much in the middle of nowhere. We took a 40 minute dive to Providence Canyon which we enjoyed. As I said, a GREAT place for people with boats. One big downside is the constant noise and clanging from the very nearby paper mill. 24/7. So, if you want peace and quiet of nature, not the best choice.

This was our first time at Bluff Creek and hopefully not out last, we loved it. The hosts helped us right off the bat with our reservation and everything from there was wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. We loved seeing the deer wander around & again, the hosts were great. Truly professional and friendly, we enjoyed them, and our stay. Thank you

Bluff Creek has the potential to be a great campground!!
When you arrive the gatehouse has signs that they need volunteers. You realize this after you get into the campground.... the sites were covered with leaves, the grass could use some cutting, etc. The volunteers that are there can only do so much.
Sadly the boat ramp isn't there any longer due to washing out. You have to launch your boat at another launch which is 3 miles away.
We did enjoy our stay but wish the Corps of Engineers would come in and fix the boat ramp and give this campground some TLC. It could be one of the better campgrounds on the lake if it had some things updated and fixed.
