What Guests Are Saying

Red Coach Resort is a quiet campground with plenty of trees and a nice Koi pond, making it a peaceful retreat, especially for smaller RVs. The campground is still undergoing improvements, such as a new shower and laundry facility, and offers hiking and a creek for exploration. However, it is not suitable for large RVs due to tight navigation, unlevel sites, and gravel roads, and some amenities and utilities are lacking.

2 stars is probably not fair to this campground. If you have a smaller or mid sized RV, it's a very descent campground. It's very quiet. Lots of trees with shade - which is nice unless you need room or count on Starlink. That's where the positives for us end.

It is not a paved camp. It is 95% gravel. Kiss my wash job good bye with dusting.
It is NOT friendly to large RVs. Very tight corners. LOTS and LOTS of trees. Just fine if you have a bumper pull, 5th wheel, or 35' RV. I would never attempt to drive through this park with our 44' RV again. Lots of twisting of the chassis and near misses with trees and fellow camper rigs. It's an absolutely lie that this park can accommodate large rigs.
They charge extra of electric use. And not just a little bit. Over $14 for just 40 hours of use. Yes, we've got 3 AC units, but that's ridiculous. Not in TVA land.
Our site was "pull through". Yeah, not for everyone. Picture attached. No way am I attempting that with our rig and toad.
Calling it a resort is like calling McDonalds "fine dining". They've got a dump station and a bathroom - guess that qualifies as a resort?
They cheaped out on the water, using ball valves buried in-ground utility boxes. No frost free hydrants here.
The site was so unlevel that some of our tires had to be completely off the ground to get the coach level.
There was trash from the previous camper in the fire ring/grill.

If we had a smaller camper, this place would be worth staying again. Please consider it if that's you. But if you have a large rig (>40'), stay away.

This park is a "resort" in name only; it lacks basic resort amenities, such as a pool or recreation room. It is functionally a gravel hillside that is poorly suited for large RVs.

Issues:
Big Rig Unfriendly: Roads are narrow with sharp turns and rough gravel. The sites are so narrow that you cannot fully open the basement bay doors.
Poor Terrain: Built on a steep hill with zero leveling. Do not expect a flat site.
Terrible Utilities: The water hookup is buried a foot underground in a dirt hole. Connecting in the rain is a muddy, difficult mess.
Trash bins are placed far from sites. If you are towing or driving a large rig, look elsewhere. The "resort" branding is a complete misrepresentation of the primitive, unlevel conditions here. Coupled with the fact that they charge for electricity, it is just another reason I won't be back. We camped at Red Coach Resort in a Motorhome.

The reason I gave this campground a three star is that a lot of the campsites are really close. Some sites are better than others. The site we used was B43 and is in need of some leveling. I used all of our leveling blocks and still was not level. Some of the pathways between sites are a little tight navigating through but we made it with a class a and a toad jeep. Most of the sites are full hookup and they also have primitive sites also. It is obvious they are continuously making improvements like the brand new shower and laundry facility. This campground has a lot of potential of being a great campground. There is hiking, playground and a creek to see.

We visited friends in the area. Found Red Coach RV off the highway. Very quiet park. Our site was B11, our view was the cool Koi pond. After meeting the owner and chatting for a while we found out about the creek on the property. A nice quiet walk down to the water. And just for Publix lovers, it was just down the road on hwy 53………would stay again.

Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay. Seems like a newer campground with a lot still in progress. Only issues we had were the site not being very level and it’s rather tight in spots but we have a 46’ 5th wheel so that’s pretty normal. I would like to see the roads paved, that would make a big difference.
