What Guests Are Saying

Camp Sherrye on the Coosa offers spacious and clean sites, a great playground for kids, and is conveniently located near amenities. However, some guests have experienced issues with site reservations and WiFi connectivity, as well as a lack of responsiveness from management. While the campground has potential, some reviews suggest improvements are needed in terms of landscaping and facilities.

Great Campground for several months. 8 to be exact. I was in the area working and stayed at the RV park. Unfortunately a couple weeks before moving out the Passenger side window of my pickup was cracked while parked at my camper by the mowing crew. I turned the problem into the office and was given the ole… we aren’t responsible! BS………. Out the deductible for fixing myself….. not good business where i come from. Be careful this could happen to you and of course would be at YOUR expense.

Called on the phone when the website wouldn’t let me book a premium site on the water with WiFi access. She let me know that it was only for motor coaches. Then I let her know we need WiFi and she gave me three sites and told me C2 was the best one. I book C2 and when we arrive at 6pm someone is on our site and by the looks of it they had been for some time. We call and leave voicemail and wait. No call back. We stop someone at the bath house and he gives me a number to call but that guy tells me to call the office number. Call again and leave another message. Wait. Nothing!!! We don’t want to just pick another empty site because it may be reserved too. So, we call again, we wait, nothing. Then we ride through the campground and found another camper where someone is sitting outside and ask if there was a camp host or an emergency number. We were told no emergency number and no camp host. So, now we have wasted over an hour and a half waiting for a call back or to find someone to figure out what we can do.
We do end up finding someone in the campground that pointed us to a guy camping that has a number to get ahold of someone. So, my husband goes and knocks on the door and the guy calls someone and they tell him that they have tried to get the guy to leave for sometime that is on my site we reserved. The guy tells us that this site has WiFi and the woman tells us to park at C7.
After getting all set up and eat supper we proceed to connect to WiFi and guess what?!! No WiFi. I have photos and videos of us doing the steps that they have you do to no avail.
I was gracious to even give one star and that is because it was the lowest rating. The sites are decent but a lot to be desired in this campground. Needless to say I am not a happy camper and if it wasn’t so late in the evening we would have left to find another place to camp. We will NOT be back. Disappointing being it is close to my sisters house and the reason for our visit here.

Fantastic spot! My family and I stayed with them for a couple of nights visiting friends — who will be staying there the whole summer — and we absolutely loved it. Great big playground for the kids, the spots are spacious and very clean, brand new laundry room with nice coin washers and dryers and we got to meet the owner as well who was absolutely lovely to talk to.
Also very close to all amenities - shops, restaurants and even a beautiful small Zoo — all in 10-20 min driving radius.
We will definitely be staying with them again when we’re back in the area.

A tad expensive for a campground that looks like a gravel pit with campsites in the middle rows. There are no picnic tables or fire rings. The ones on the river at least have nature views instead of rows of very close rvs. Also they hay concrete pads. Not sure how old it is but planting a few trees would be a good idea.

We absolutely love everything about Camp Sherrye. We're Wetumpka residents and therefore so thankful that an RV park like this has been developed. The owners are genuine, fantastic folks that are really putting their heart and sole into this development. For instance: when the manufacturers of the campsite fire pits weren't able to deliver enough for each site, the owners provided very nice solo stoves. The sites are all very large and level, accommodating any rig. The campground was very peaceful and quiet during our stay. I can also see this as a place that promotes a sense of community, especially with that pavilion which will be great for watching football in the fall. Overall this is definitely a 5 star!
