What a great cabin and area to explore. Bring your own fuel oil or firewood for heating. The oil stove puts out only a little heat, and the wood stove burns through wood quickly. Keep a close eye on the damper, since the low, medium, and high dial settings are only rough suggestions.
All in all, a great cabin.

Need dust pan for cleaning cabin
Need winch system to get provided boat back onto the boat storage platform
some of the board walk to the stream for water are not secure

Martin Lake Cabin is under reconstruction and unavailable for reservation at this time. When available access to the cabin is by float plane only, typically 30 minutes from Cordova. Float planes land on the lake next to the cabin. In fall, winter and early spring, the cabin may be inaccessible to float planes due to the frozen lake surface. Please contact the local Forest Service Ranger District office at (907) 424-7661 for information prior to making reservations for these periods.
