River's Edge Resort

The service at this place is excellent. The shuttle was at the train station when we arrived and was available when we needed it for the riverboat and airport. They held our luggage for us as we had an evening flight. Accommodations were modest but comfortable. We were walking distance to a grocery store
and coffee/bagel shop. It was a unique cottage experience if you are looking for something different instead of a hotel. They also had a nice RV park next door. We did not est on the property but they have a breakfast buffet and a restaurant open for dinner.

We loved the shuttle service to/from the Alaska Railroad station and the Riverboat Discovery boat cruise. Thank you! Our original room had no heat, and we were disappointed not to have been offered a different room until the next day. The resort had just recently opened for the season, so we guess that the heater had not been checked before it was assigned to us. The front desk staff on the second day was apologetic and moved us to a new room as soon as we returned.

Smoke detector not working, very small towels, door not sealing properly with gaps, spider webs on ceiling in all corners and on fan. This is a 1 star cottage at best in any state, but expected more for price in peak season. Would not stay again. Their restaurant is overpriced with a small river at 54 bucks that is worth 30 at best. Not recommending to any travelers unless you can't get downtown, as it lacks good walking options, or must use Lyft or other transportation.

Not a super fancy but beautiful location and clean. My children loved the river behind out cottage.

Individual cabins are very quaint! Staff was very helpful, provides shuttle to almost everywhere we needed to get.
