We had another great experience at Lee's Cabin in the White Mountains. This time we rented the cabin for New Year's Eve. We brought no fireworks but the northern lights were great again. In my experience, the people who use this cabin and other cabins in the White Mtns always leave a little extra for the next user, whether it's propane, firewood, or whatever. Highly recommend.

Bring a good wood saw to collect firewood. The provided saw is not too sharp. Also, firewood was barely enough for the night, so arrive early to collect your own supply for the night just in case.
Leave at least enough wood for the next guest. It seems not everyone think about this.
The cabin location is Excellent! Beautiful. The trail was well groomed and well maintained. Few overflow, and the icy Fossil Creek to prepare for.

The trails were in excellent shape, with just enough challenging portions to keep travel interesting. Wolf Run cabin was in excellent shape (thanks to the previous guests and BLM crew).

Traveling north from Fairbanks, take the Steese Highway on through Fox. There is a trailhead at Milepost 42 and 57 of the Steese Highway to access some of the cabins. Traveling north on the Elliott Highway from Fox, there are two trailheads at Milepost 28 and 57 of the Elliott Highway to access the White Mountains from the west side. For further information contact BLM district office.
The campground is accessible via the Steese Highway and Elliott Highway, both of which are significant routes in the area. The Steese Highway has trailheads at Milepost 42 and 57 for accessing the cabins.
