All was normal in the Whites as long as you’re prepared. I AM NOT A FAN OF THE BOOKING PROCESS!! It makes it near impossible to book for a multi-day trip and paying an additional surcharge for each individual booking is sheer robbery.

Cabin was as described. Read other reviews for more info. Very close to the road and parking is right there. Was stocked with some dry firewood, though you should not rely on that. Also has a camp stove that uses 1 lb propane bottles and there may be one there. Fairly dark inside and a lantern would be handy. There is one, propane. There is one foam pad. Otherwise the beds are all wood. Another guest did leave some bear spray that you could take hiking. Plenty of table space and sleeping space for up to 6 if you’re cozy.
Mosquitoes were the worst here in all AK. We left some OFF for the next campers. Only one window has a screen so you can’t really open the others.
Be bear aware! We saw a black bear by our car about an hour after we arrived.

Coleman stove, lamp, and torch all run on green or blue propane, bring at least one out to make sure you have propane for your trip and replace what you use. There was wood stacked, but mostly green and didn't burn great. Be prepared to spend time finding and replacing dead wood for the stove. Cabin heats up fast.

Traveling north on the Elliott Highway from Fox, there are two trailheads at Milepost 28 and 57 of the Elliott Highway to access the White Mountains from the west side. The campground is accessible via the Steese Highway and Elliott Highway, both of which are significant routes in the area. The Steese Highway has trailheads at Milepost 42 and 57 for accessing the cabins.
