Oceanside RV Park

We stayed five nights and were extremely impressed with this campground. After traveling through Canada and Alaska, this was the first campground we found with fully paved roads and sites, which was a welcome change after so many gravel parks.

The entire property was exceptionally clean, organized, and well maintained. The manager was constantly working around the park, keeping everything in excellent condition. The location is also hard to beat, with beautiful views and easy walking access to much of Haines.

The on-site car wash was spotless and worked great for removing several days of Alaska road grime from our motorhome. This is one of the best-kept campgrounds we have stayed at on our trip, and we would not hesitate to return or recommend it to others. The staff was 10 stars very friendly and helpful. Five stars.

Oceanside has a very beautiful view. It is quiet and very clean. The showers and laundry are super clean. The management is fun and great to work with. It is also close to everything in town so you can walk to restaurants and the parks. Just a great place to stay.

We are currently staying at a waterfront RV site on Lynn Canal. The location is beautiful, the restrooms are clean, and the water, sewer, and electrical hookups all work well.

However, we are very disappointed with the amenities at our site. The campground advertises that its RV sites include picnic tables, but our site does not have one. When I mentioned this to a staff member, I was simply told that there are not enough picnic tables for every site. We find this unacceptable when paying around $100 per night.

Our neighbors on one side have their picnic table tied to their RV with a rope, while the neighbors on the other side keep theirs inside their dog enclosure. Obviously, these are not tables that other guests can use. Some sites have a picnic table, while others do not, even though everyone pays the same high nightly rate.

Another disappointment is the location of the hookups. The water, sewer, and power connections are on the Lynn Canal side of the site, forcing us to park our RV in a way that prevents us from fully enjoying the beautiful waterfront view.

The location is stunning, and the restrooms are well maintained, but overall we do not feel this campground is worth the price. At around $100 per night, we expect every site to include the amenities that are advertised and to offer the same level of infrastructure for all guests.

We stayed here after ferrying the inside passage with our Airstream on the AMHS Kennicott. What a great place to stay. Full hook ups meant we could charge our batteries and do laundry. Their facility is spotless. Oh, not to mention the views. Nick is an awesome host, too. Very reasonably priced, new condition and walking distance to town.

Top notch hospitality. The views are breath taking with eagles flying overhead. It is next to the Haines Harbor, which has a classic charm of it's own. We'd stay here again in a heart beat.
