Wonderful post-Memorial Day experience. Warm sun, cool breezes off the glacier, and only a handful of campsites occupied. Very quiet and restful.

Mendenhall Campground offers stunning views of the glacier, well-maintained facilities, and a peaceful atmosphere, making it a top choice for campers. Many reviews highlight the hot showers, cleanliness, and spacious sites with good spacing and privacy. Some minor drawbacks include noise from nearby roads and occasional late-night disturbances, as well as the locked gate after 10 PM, but overall, guests have had wonderful experiences and appreciated the campground's natural beauty and excellent amenities.

We came to Juneau to see our family. Stayed 12 days camping at Mendenhall Glacier Campground. We reserved 2 sites both were very unique , quiet , and private. Park is very wooded and has great view of Glacier from campsite along the lake . I sat on the shore from campsite #9 watching a beaver swim by while gazing at the glacier. Perfect place to relax and reflect . Park hosts were helpful with our few issues and local law enforcement made regular casual patrols through out our stay. No signs of bears and grounds were free of trash. Bathrooms were basic and clean. A great place to relax, sleep , launch paddle boards/kayak, walk interior trails, and use as base camp for West Glacier trail.
