What Guests Are Saying
Mendenhall Campground offers stunning views, especially from sites like #8, 9, and 10, providing a scenic experience close to Juneau. The campground is well-maintained, with spacious sites, clean bathrooms, and excellent amenities, including free showers and bear-proof storage boxes. Was awful. The hosts there are obviously not from juneau and don't know the environment very well at all. They are also extremely unprofessional and are very rude and nosy. I have been a resident of juneau for 20+ years and have never been so insulted and put off by any one in their "profession". If you're going to hire someone for that type of job you should hire people that at least are familiar with the surrounding wild life and to not over react in a way that is dangerous for any person or animal involved or even in the area. Very unhappy with the way they handle, or don't handle, any situation. Way to go whoever hired them. (Sarcasm). But because of the poor excuse for a "host" I will not only never recommend this place to anyone but I will also go out my way to spread the word to everyone (local or traveler) that with the people running this place, this is one of the worst places to go in juneau. Worse than even the low income housing community known for drugs and crime. Absolutely terrible

Great spot, great view, great price. Felt like real camping with a bit of Glamp. Great to have a bear box at every site. Great to have it start at $10 because we had to camp a few days unexpectedly and didn't have a lot of cash flow, especially since we had to buy wood which is way too expensive. But, totally worth it!
